Questioning Assessment
Candidate Instructions
Youwillcomplete questions for purposesof formalassessmentas per the questions
outlined in the questioning record below, and any additional probing or clarification
questions required by the assessor.
The Knowledge Activity is designed to confirm your competency for all the required
knowledge in the unit of competency.
Task Details
There is no restriction on the length of the question responses, or time restriction in
completing the assessment.
It is anticipated that the assessment will take approximately
6hoursto complete.
The assessment may be re-attempted on two further occasions (maximum three
attempts in total).All assessments must be resubmitted 3 days within
receiving your unsatisfactory grade. You must clearly indicate “Re-
submission” on your resubmitted work.
You must complete all questions unassisted by the assessor or other personnel but
may refer to reference material as may be needed.
All questions must be answered satisfactorily for the assessment to be completed
satisfactorily.
For any assessment conducted that is incomplete, or without satisfactory
performance, the assessment will need to be completed again after further training
support. This may be simply to focus on question areas not achieved in the prior
assessment.
Evidence to be collected
Answer the activity in as much detail as possible, considering your
organizational requirements.
In undertaking this assessment task, you as the candidate are providing consent for
your work to be reviewed for the purposes of formal assessment in the unit(s) of
competency. If you have concern regarding this permission, please discuss this with
your assessor prior to undertaking the task.

Task 2 – Performance and Skills Assessment
General instructions
You are the manager of a Bounce Fitness centre in Sydney’s beach suburb
of Bondi. The centre has been growing rapidly and you have hired a full
time customer service officer who also acts as your administrative
assistant. This new staff member will need a new laptop and mobile
phone and you have decided to update your own laptop and mobile phone
at the same time.
Bounce Fitness head office have some guidelines around all purchases
which you will need to adhere to. Refer to the Bounce Fitness Purchasing
Policy and ensure your research will enable you to meet this policy.
You will need to firstly research what is available, decided on what you
want and then submit a report to Bounce Fitness head office for approval.
Part A – Plan and conduct research
1. List 3 research objectives
Answer-
Before undertaking any research, it is important to clearly define the objectives. Failing
to do this can mean that the research either encounters many issues or actually yields
no valuable information at all. The three research objectives are-
1. Measurement- Your research objectives should clearly outline what it is you plan to
measure from conducting your research. For example; Sales growth/decline, Customer
satisfaction, Net profit growth/decline.
2. Categorisation- This objective summarises what category of information you want to
access and gather. Categories of information include: Sales, Brand awareness,
Consumer attitudes, Buyer behaviours.
3. Comparisons- If you intend to compare information, say from a previous year or from
a different company, then this needs to be clearly outlined in your research objectives.
