1. Ways to monitor performance and information used to improve work performance
Employees are the face of organization as they have direct interaction with customers.
They are the one who have direct interaction with service users. When they are not able to
perform their set of roles in effective manner, then it has negative impact over the business. In
order to overcome these type of issues management need to identify the areas in which
improvement is required. In this context, cite firm that is Marriott hotel make different strategies
with the help of which performance of employees is monitored and they are as follows:
Punctuality: In accordance with the roles and responsibilities that has to be performed by
workers it is important to make sure that all the workers come to office on time. When
employees are punctual, then it can be stated that they are dedicated towards work and will put
on their full efforts on attaining the goals.
Quality of work: At Marriott hotel, there are different type of work that has to be
performed. In order to monitor the performance, this is done determining the quality of work that
is performed by them.
Checking their attitude: Different people have diverse set of perception that are carried
out by individuals. When some work is given some will have positive attitude and there will be
some who will have negative attitude for the same. Monitoring is made by cited firm by
considering the attitude that is shown workers.
In order to improve the performance level, cited firm provide their worker with proper
training so that they are able to develop their skills, capabilities and develop positive perception
towards work.
2. Steps taken by firm regarding networking and three suggestions that can be done personally
In order to improve the networking within the organisation, Marriott hotel make use of
functional structure in which all the operations are divided into different departments. Each of
the department has a head manager and all the managers are fall under main head. All the
employees who are under managers need to communicate all the issues that are faced by them.
Further, managers are the one who convey information regarding the performance to top head.
This is a sequence in follow of information that is carried out top to bottom and bottom to top. In
order words, employees can not have direct interaction with top head. It is important for them to
share the information to their department head and they will convey it to top head. This is a
systematic structure that enables to business to reduce the risk of confusions

As per personal aspect, it is important to follow some of the suggestions provided as it
will enable to have strong network.
Understand the roles and responsibilities: For personal development it is important to
makes sure that I have proper understanding of the set of roles and responsibilities that
has to be played. When there are confusions, then it becomes difficult to follow the
network in effective manner.
Maintaining relationship with managers: It is important to have strong relationship with
managers so that one is able to understand the information or orders that are provided by
managers. When information is maintained, then it help to reduce the rate of confusions
and there will not be facing conflicts.
Identifying the required skills: In order to perform any type of roles, it requires to have
certain set of skills so that it can be performed efficiently.
3. Personal plans/goals interact with the organizations goals and objectives
In accordance with the person goals and objectives, one prefers to get a job that provides
them satisfaction. This is possible when they perform with their full efficiency and focus on the
goals that are provided by the firm. When management gets to know that one is working to
support their business, then management help employees towards attaining their personal goals.
Workers who are skilled and are supportive can considered to be precious and they focus on
providing them all the requirement and in helping them to attain the goals in positive manner.
Further, it is also identified that when workers are focused on attaining the objectives of the
business, then it enables to attain the personal goals.
4. Effectiveness of informal mechanisms of communication
Within the organization, it is important to have strong communication with all the
members so that all are able to understand the work that they have to perform. In context with
customers, employees need to determine the preference of what they expect and when these are
identified and fulfilled, then customers get satisfied. Direct communication enables to consider
the feeling that each person has. On the other hand, for indirect communication there are issues
faced when it is not done effectively. All the details need to be covered so that receiver is able to
understand them in effective manner. Within the organization, employees and employers make
use of mails. There are issues faced when the information that is provided is not appropriate.
