NEED OF CHANGE
• In the volatile business environment, changing
existing business process is very much needed in
attaining competitive advantage.
• Sunoco Inc. is aiming to transform their conventional
system into cloud based data storage system to
handle the valuable data in an effective manner.
• Gathering all the data in a single platform is making
it difficult for them to explore the more prioritized
data (Kreutzer, Neugebauer & Pattloch, 2018).
• Thus, they are showing their willingness to execute
the new system to separate the most valuable and
least valuable data.

CHALLENGES TOWARDS INITIATING CHANGE
CHALLENGE 1: LACK OF SKILL AMONG THE STAFFS
• Not having sufficient knowledge among the
staffs can make it difficult for them to adapt with
new system (Boon et al., 2018).
• Sunoco Inc. might face certain challenges in the
way of initiating cloud-based software system, as
the staffs are not expertise in the field.
Recommendation
• Knowledge regarding the tools and techniques of
handling the cloud-based software must be
integrated among the employees.
