Developing manager is an essential part of every company. Developing managers helps
in the development of the team and provides information about the changes occurring in the
external environment (Savelsbergh, Havermans and Storm, 2016). Developing manager guides
the company to innovate and create new products and services by using new technologies in the
production process. Developing manager is responsible to understand the change and
development in the outside world and implement in the company to achieve goals. Present report
is based on Clayton Crown Hotel London. It is a luxury hotel under the brand of Dalata hotel
groups. It is famous for its unique offerings and warm welcoming atmosphere. Report will
contain the comparison of management style used by 2 hotels, leadership style and
characteristics. In addition to it, report also contains the communication process of Clayton
Crown Hotel, changes occurred in the business and their organisation culture. Report will also
review own potential as a manager, its skills, SWOT, how they make objectives in developing
their own potential. Further report will also show managerial skills which is used to achieve
organisation goals, how managerial decisions support the achievement of goals and objective.
Lastly report will contain that how managerial and personal skills helps in career development
and reviewing the current and future performance in making development plan

Management styles is a style used by leader to handle employees. Every organisation
follows some kind of management styles. Management styles is adopted by the company to
motivate employees and enhance their performance by providing training so that they work
towards achieving goals and objectives (McCaughan, 2018). There are different management
styles used by the companies are autocratic, consultative, persuasive, democratic, Laissez-faire

There are various skills which is required by the manager to achieve organisational goals.
As I am Assistant Duty manager of Clayton Crown Hotel I have following skills: Time management: Every manager need to consider time while doing its work. It helps
managers to divide the task according to the time (Narayanan, 2018). If this skill is not
proper in the hotel industry than it has a negative impact on customers. I manage to do
my work according to the given time. I give priority to managing my time because it
helps me to finish my work on time. It helps in flexibility in operations. I also take

skills that is the reason I am not able to solve problems sometimes (Deveau and McGill,
2016). I need to improve my analytical skills to perform better. Problem solving is an
essential skill which every manager should possess. I evaluate my problem solving skills
by asking problems of employees, try to understand it and solve problems of employees.

important to communicate with the employees about the company and any changes which
may occur. Employees need to be ready for change. I have good communication skills
and I can understand my staff better. I am good in both verbal and written

them to work towards achieving goals (Onnis and et.al., 2019). I evaluate my
communication skills by taking feedback from my staff and ask whether they understand
clearly.

performance of employees. Manager is responsible for motivating employees and
encouraging them. I have good motivation skills. I evaluate performance of employees on
the basis of their performance and give rewards, promotion and appreciation for their

Swot analyses is considered as most effective tool that helps in analysing strength,
weakness, opportunities sand threats of the company and a person as well. I am working as
deputy manager in the firm, my own SWOT analyses is illustrated as below:
Strength
Communication: I am a good communicator; I can easily coordinate with other people
(Rauter, Jonker and Baumgartner, 2017). This skill of mine always help me to complete
my task on time and minimise confusion as well. My written and verbal both skills are
good, whenever I have to mail my peer group members and juniors I can mail it in easy
and understandable language. This supports me in minimising workplace confusion and
developing bonding with people.
Critical thinking skill: My critical thinking ability is my strong point, as whenever I face
complexity I evaluate the situation and accordingly make decision which support me
taking practical judgements for the growth of business unit. Managerial skill: I can manage people well, I motivate them and can make them positive
towards their duties. That is why I have many friends and I can build relationship with
any third person.
Weakness
Presentation skill: My presentation skill is very bad I cannot present myself. As my
confidence is very low whenever I stand in stage I feel so nervous. That is the reason that
I fail to present myself easily (Cregård, Forsberg and Berntson, 2018). If I improve
mythis skill then I would be able to get higher position which will be beneficial for my
career development. Technical skill: I have poor knowledge about latest software even I can operate only
limited software which sometimes create problem in completing my task effectively.
Opportunities
Globalisation: It is the great opportunity for me because I can get new jobs across the
world.
Advance technologies: This can give me opportunity as I would be able to use internet
and other equipment’s which will help me in improving my knowledge.
