INTRODUCTION In order to define the task of development manager in hotel Hilton, it is necessary todefine the different management styles because tasks and roles are varies according to themanagement styles. Furthermore, this report include leadership characteristics as well. Inaddition to this, hotel Hilton is using mostly informal communication method and three aspectsin its such as transmitter, message and receiver. Transmitter plays as an encoder and receiverplays as decoder. This report also described the importance of evaluation of own managementskills and performance because by the evaluation, manager can get the information that whatimprovements are required and what are to be neglected. Furthermore, this report also explainedSWOT analysis model(Miceski and Tashkov, 2017). By which chosen company can identify itsstrengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats factor. These all factors required to be evaluatedbecause by this company can increase their strengths factor by getting opportunities andovercome the weaknesses by avoiding threatening factors.TASK 11.1 Comparison between different management stylesThere are different management styles which can be used by a company in management. Mostlythere are six types of management style in travel and tourism sector. These are as follows : The directive style : This style is also known as coercive style of management. In this style,leaders sets high standards of the performance. In this type of style, employees are so frustratedbecause there is a higher level of control and restrictions in the activities. The authoritative style : This is visionary style of management. In this leaders set the visionsfor the workers and provide independence to perform the work. Leader explained the missionand vision of the company in effective manner to the employees. Leader evaluates theperformance of the employees time to time(Miceski and Tashkov, 2017). The affirmative style : In this style of management, leader create different divisions of the team.After developing the team, leader gives them different challenges and opportunities to getsuccess. Workers feel happiness and freedom of work due to the team work. The democratic style : This style is also known as participative style of management. In thisleader asks the queries to the team members that what they would like to do. Later ahead theyconduct voting on the option. It takes long time to be done because it needs the response of allthe workers. 1

The pacesetting style : In this style leaders set a cracking pace from the starting. Addition tothis, team are highly motivated, engaged and highly energetic. Leaders sets the members task inwhich they clearly define that which task will be done by whom. If any member is notperforming the task then leader gives it to someone else(Sander and Caza, 2015). The coaching style : In this style, leaders are generally focuses on the learning experience.When a team member proves himself that he gave his best than leader appoint him as a subleader of other team member. Which one will be the best style is depends upon the people and situation of theorganization. 1.2 leadership characteristics There are different qualities, responsibilities, roles, authorities and characteristics of a leadership.To be a successful leader, it required different features of leadership. Leader is a person who leadhis followers in according and proper way to achieve success of the organization. Someimportant leadership features are as follows : Honesty and integrity : These two ingredients are the main features of leader. These are thesupreme qualities of the leader. Leader can not expect from their follower o having honesty andintegrity if he himself do not have these qualities. Confidence : To be an effective and successful, leader should be confident enough that hisfollower are following commands and instructions given by him. As a leader he has to boost andmotivate other employees so it is essential to be confident on his decisions as well. Good communicator : Leader plays an important role in a company. They have to coordinateand collaborate all the employees from the different departments in an organization. To achievesuccess, it is required to be explained the objectives of the company in effective manner. If aleader has a quality of good communicator than he can explained the objectives in efficientmanner. Capabilities of decision making : Leaders have to take different decisions regarding to theactivities so he has capable enough to take decisions. Decision making is one of the mostimportant process in any organization. It required different skills and tactics which onle leadershave. 2
