develop a good understanding of the needs of the clients you work
with and
the community in which they live.

then
Developing programs designed to meet those needs. Through

3. Questions/Task
1. Visit the website for the Australian Bureau of Statistics and browse their statistics tab.
Carefully select 1 of the sub-categories within the health, people or labour statistics.
Take the time to review the various categories and choose a group of statistics that
interest you. From these you will be required to determine a need and use it as the basis
of your program planning.
Reference the selected group of statistics and provide an overview of the key findings of
the statistics (100 words).
Example: The diverse cultures in a particular local government area where English is a
second language signify a need to develop culturally appropriate services for those
communities.
The crime record of victims in Australia shows of irrational measures taken to counter
different sorts of crimes experienced. With a relatively decreasing record of murder in the
country, it is vivid that there is an alarming increase in number of sexual assault. Therefore,
there are measures undertaken to reduce crimes but does not seem to stop all sorts of
crimes mentioned. This signifies that there is a need to undertake relevant measures to
stop all sorts crimes categorically. In this case, issues concerning sexual assault should be
capitalized on to ensure that the graph reads a dropping record. As well, other sorts of
crimes should not be left behind in this case.

4. For each of the 4 stakeholders create:
2 questions each for clients and the community to clarify their health and well-being
2 questions each for other services and networks and work colleagues to identify
clients’ diverse and multi-faceted needs and issues.
Stakeholder Clarifying health and well-being of individuals (10-50 words each)
Client
1. When is the last time you had a medical checkup?
2. Do you have a history of sexually transmitted disease?
Community
1. How often is there disease outbreak in the area you live in?
2. Have you experienced any infection in the last 6 months?
Stakeholder Investigating needs and issues of individuals (10-50 words each)
Other
Services and
Networks
1. What qualifications make you fit for this post?
2. Do you have past experience for this major?
Work
Colleagues
1. What is your highest level of education?
2. How much experience do you pertain?
5. Analyse the statistics of your selected Australia Bureau of Statistics (ABS) health, people
or labour subtopic. Using this information determine an individual, group or community
need.
Provide a justification (based on your statistical analysis) of why you have determined
this need (100 words).
Basing on the Crime and Justice information under Domestic violence, it is evident that
there is an alarming need for security. Importantly, this is based on a given individual in the
community, women. The sexual assault seem to be a pressing issue which unfortunately
seems to increase as time moves on. Basing on the information, the security seem to have
been improved. Sadly, the security does not seem to cater to the sexual assault problems.
The reason I selected this is because when other crimes seem to reduce, sexual assault is
in the rise. Interestingly, there seem to be a wanting gap due to the unproportional
information provided.

8. Programs may need to be modified because of social and cultural factors impacting on clients,
continuous improvement, changing policy and budgetary framework, a change in legislation,
change in government, loss of project funding, poor participation etc. Identify a potential
contingency and describe how you would modify your project as a result of the contingency
(approximately 100 words).
Potential contingency: Misuse of funds – Misuse of funds designated for the program will
result in its failure
Modifications to program:
(approximately 100 words)
To avoid misuse of funds, it is advisable to keep in mind that all
processes must be transparent. Therefore, it is necessary to work
with people who are not corrupt or greedy. As well, it is important to
provide a receipt of any transaction conducted and a proof of
transaction followed with the fund balance. Usage of funds must be
approved by several top members to avoid misuse and squandering
of finance. By so doing, this will guarantee that there is no misuse of
funds at all.
9. Develop an evaluation survey (containing at least 5 questions) that could be completed by clients
to assist you in evaluating the success of the program objectives (25-50 words each).
1
. What is the end goal?
2
. What time should the program take?
3
. What resources does the program require?
4
. What is the structure of management of the program?
5
. Is the budget designated enough for the program?
Develop a rating survey (containing at least 5 questions) that could be completed by clients to assist
you in evaluating their level of program satisfaction (25-50 words each).
1
. What are your prior experiences regarding the program?
2
. What are your aims regarding the program?
3
. What is your availability?
4
. Will you conform to the listed policies and procedures?
5
. What is your end goal as far as the program is concerned?
