INTRODUCTION
Employability skills can be defined as those skills that an employee is expected to
possess to get a job. It helps them in dealing with their personal and potential easily. These skills
determine the capabilities of particular person working in the company. These skills include time
management, teamwork, self-motivation and leadership quality, etc. They are considered as an
essential element for getting a job in company. It is always considered compulsory for the
individuals to gain some skills so that their efficiency increases. Companies also organise various
types of programs for employees so that their learning is never stopped. This report is based on
health and social care sector. The organisation chosen here is Wellington Hospital. It is the
largest independent hospital in UK and also a part of HCA international hospital group. This
hospital is very famous for its cardiac services, neurosurgery, liver and HPB medicine. It is
located in London. The main aim of making this report is to access the skills, responsibilities,
performance of managers of hospital, solutions to work based problems and role of individuals in
a team for achieving objectives of company.
TASK 1
1.1 Own responsibilities and performance objectives
Taking responsibility for completing a task is considered as a one of the major thing that
an employee learns in the company. If the employee is taking initiative for competing a
particular task then he makes a good image in company. Wellington hospital is the leading
hospital in London and they are serving so many patients at one time. As a manager of
Wellington Hospital, I know that it is very difficult to manage such a big organisation in an
efficient manner. The responsibilities that in have to perform here so as to manage everything
nicely are :-

Management of
Marketing
Since Wellington Hospital is a well known hospital so it does not require
much advertisements but I have to make sure that if any new service is
introduced by the Doctors of Hospital then it should be known to the
people outside. So, I have to manage all the marketing activities for making
patients understand the services provided by them.
Maintaining It is the main responsibility that I have to fulfil. Whenever there is some

problem in or emergency in Wellington Hospital, I am only asked about
the patients reports, so it is my responsibility to maintain all the records of
the patients of the Hospital so that they can be referred further.
Maintaining
Employee
relations
As a manager of Wellington Hospital, it is my responsibility to maintain
sound relationship between management and he staff members of the
hospital. If they will work with coordination and Harmony then the whole
hospital will be able to maintain good environment and which is very
essential for the patients admitted there.
Initiate learning
and Development:
As a manager of Wellington Hospital, I am responsible to increase of the
people who are working in he organisation. So, to increase the efficiency of
doctors, I will conduct various seminars and programs where they will get
the opportunity to learn new developments that are happening in the
medical world outside and those skills also that will help them performing
their job easily.
The performance objectives are given as :
Objectives Time period
Time management According to the work allotted to me and my
team in have decided to manage my team by
dividing the whole work to be performed on
different days. I have decided to allot 2 week
time complete my project.
Reducing Conflicts Since conflicts can make the work environment
worse, so I have decided that in have to solve
all the issues going on between the employees
within 1 week.
Improving Communication Communication improvement take more time
than any other skill so in have decided to give
some time to the employees so that they are
