INTRODUCTION. Employability skills are very essential for the individual to get desired job. Theemployee must have good command on their subject, technical knowledge and problem-solvingskills to get desired job. Travelodge Hotel is a hospitality industry in United Kingdom(Wickramasinghe and Perera, 2010). It has secured second position in terms of budget. Theoverall profit of this hotel is £27.0m. In this report, the main concern is to determine theresponsibilities and performance of individual. Further, the focus is given on developinginterpersonal and transferable skills. The report has analysed different roles of the people andteam dynamics. Moreover, different strategies are discussed for solving the problem. The impactof these strategies on the business operation are defined.Task 11.1 The responsibilities and performance objectives of an individualAs a human resource management of Travelodge Hotel, the main responsibility is tomake effective decision regarding employees and the management of the hotel.. Human resourcemanager has to look over the performance of all the employees for better functioning of thehotel. Another responsibility of human resource manager is to maintain effective relationship inTravelodge resort. Further they have to look after the employment rights like everyone will getfair income according to their job work. . So human resource manager has to make effectiveplanning to receive the guests and provide them the best facilities.The performance of all the employees of Travelodge hotel can be maintained bymonitoring their growth (Korschun, Bhattacharya and Swain, 2014). This can be achieved bysetting performance objectives. The human resource manager has to handle the salary levels,bonuses and incentives related schemes so that they can encourage their employees to increasetheir productivity. They have to provide trainings so that they can understand changing needsand demands of their customers and behave properly. The human resource manager ofTravelodge hotel has to identify the strengths and weakness so that they can hire right person forright job. The main objective of the human resource manager is to set goals which may behelpful for achieving long term goals and objectives of the hotel. Human resource manager hasto promote training and other development programs regularly.The other objective of human resource management is to make effective communicationbetween all the members so that they can effectively work in the workplace and solve their1

problems. Another objective is to analyse the capability and potentiality of every individual forfuture growth.1.2 Effectiveness of the performance objectivesHuman resource manager of Travelodge hotel has made various objectives to increase theperformance of the hotel. There are several advantages of making performance objectives. Forexample, performance appraisals help managers to find out efficient workers and make differentpolicies for their promotion (Atkin and Brooks, 2014). Further, it helps in dismissing the lessskilled employees. The training programs helps in increasing the skills of the staff members sothat they can clearly understand the problems and find innovative solution. The performanceappraisals also help in increasing the trust of the hotel workers so that they can put more effortsto achieve future goals of the hotel. Additionally, workers development plans help manager to setdifferent plans for framing trainings for the employees.The human resource manager of the hotel gives idea about the selection criteria of theapplicants. It gives the prior needs that the organisation required to maintain their position.Effective communication between employees and their supervisors has also helped to solve thedifficult problems (Wolters, Won and Hussain, 2017). It has also created the effectiveenvironment in the hotel industry which directly benefited the hotel company as well ascustomers. Effective communication skills of all staff members have boost up the spirit andmoral of the workers. Further, analysing the capacity and skills of the employee will give idea tothe manager of which employees needs training. It will increase overall performance of theemployees and helps in increasing the progress of Travelodge hotel.1.3 Recommendation for improvementIt is recommended that; human resource manager has to set different strategies forimproving the performance of the employees. They have to organise trainings which are basedon hotel's guest management and effective behaviour. The and nature of the employees andsupervisors plays an important factor on making effective impression on customers. Further, themanager has to make arrangements for providing best services to the customers at differentoccasions. It is recommended that human resource manager has to conduct regular surveys todetermine the performance of the workers and provide them feedbacks. Regular feedbacks helpstaff memebers to know their lacking areas and their position among other workers (Chase andet.al., 2013). 2
