INTRODUCTION
In the modern environment it is important for the companies to generate new competitive
employees to accomplish the organisation goals. Human resource departments plays very crucial
role in the company. This department hired most talented employees and change their personal
skills into professional skills. Its main objective to increase the productivity level of the
employees. This department gives motivation or appreciation to do the work more efficiently. It
can be done through given proper training to the employees. In this present report will focus on
employees' performance. It will explain about the various learning methods in the organisation
provided by HR manger. Furthermore, it will explain about plan and design of training and
development plans. In this present report Hilton hotel is being taken into action. It is the well
known hotel in the world. Its provide many luxurious accommodation facilities to the customers.
TASK 1
1.1 Comparison of different learning styles.
Learning styles can be explained as key factor of the employees through which they can
give better performance to companies goals. Learning styles are very different from each other. It
depends upon the skills and knowledge of the employee(Knowles, Holton III, and Swanson,
2014.). There are various learning styles through which employees increase their competencies
towards company goals. There are various learning styles like Honey & Mumford(1986), kolb's
style. Honey & Mumford explains four learning styles are :
1. Theorist: in this learning HR gives training on the basis of theory behind action plans.
Means they explain the detail explanation involves in the particular action. These type of
learning helps Hilton workers to perform better and helps to understand the basic
knowledge.
2. Pragmatist: Honey & Mumford explains about this learning style. This learning style
gives the technique through which employees of Hilton hotel can reduce the risk factor
and adopt new method of working. This learning style gives advantage to use innovative
way to manage the work properly.
3. Reflector: In this next learning style in this style employees get practical knowledge
from the actual learning which gives lots of learning style to work. In this method of
learning helps employees to observe the things and learn the practical knowledge.

4. Activist: In this learning style employees can learn through working. In this style new
employees are getting huge information about the actual working(Armstrong, and Taylor,
2014.). Manager should trained employees through different activities like group
discussion, puzzles, role-play. These types of activities create new productive
environment which gives motivation to do the work.
Employees of Hilton hotel needs to adopt Activist learning style to manage the
things in productive manner(Brewster, and Hegewisch, 2017. ). Through this learning styles new
ideas are come out for the benefit of the company image. Apart from this, Kolb's learning
methods is also worthwhile to increasing the productive level of employees. It involves various
steps.
ï‚· Reflective observation: In this learning styles employee get to learn that before making
any plan it needs to identify the environment because before making any conclusion
employee should review the plans. It helps to minimize the future risk.
ï‚· Abstract conceptualisation: In this learning style employee learn from the actual
situations. This learning styles create practical learning through which new employees
learns a lot.
ï‚· Active experimentation: In this learning style, manager of the Hilton hotel needs to
make employees understand the real task so that employees understand the actual process
and increase their own productivity.
ï‚· Concrete experience: In this learning style employees learn from the experience and
create new ideas of making work more productive.
1.2 Learning curves and the importance of learning transfer
Learning curve is the in which employee understand the own strength and weaknesses
comparatively from others. It helps to give new suggestion and ideas to create the individual
strength. It obtains some set of objective and goals through which employees of Hilton achieve
their short goals. It shows the abilities and competencies of the employee and its performance
level curve(Storey, 2014.). Human resource manager of Hilton hotel needs to motivate the
employees and give them proper training for performing the systematic task. Learning curve
shows the competencies of the employees and make aware from the weaknesses. Employee can
measure their own level among the other employees. Learning curve promote the new
opportunities for the company. Learning curves helps in making new strategic plans. It also gives

customers satisfaction. Learning curves shows the employees performance and yhelps to make
new training and development sessions.
Transferring of learning is the tool from which company achieve their objectives.
Transferring of risk gives new ideas and competency among the employees. It has been observed
that transferring risk create innovative different ideas. It helps to achieve the Hilton targets at
given time period. This type of learning encourage the working environment of Hilton. This
transfer of learning helps to minimize the risk factors. HR manger take these responsibilities to
achieve the Hilton objective. These factors create more quality management and achieve the
target. Transfer learning take new work to others. It helps Hilton that every employee is good at
any level.
1.3 Importance of learning styles and theories.
In the organisation, when HR of the company take training sessions they measure the
different learning styles. These learning helps to make the best business plans. It is essential to
accomplish the organisation objective(Budhwar, and Debrah, 2013.). Through this effects Hilton
gives much more new services to the customers and attracts new customers. During all these
employees of Hilton hotel gives excellent knowledge to the employees. HR of the Hilton hotels
give competitive training to achieve the object of training workshop. Learning styles gives many
learning styles like Reflective, Abstract, conceptualization, experience. It helps to create new
opportunities to accomplish the company goals. These theories are effective to complete the
particular task and gives more effective output.

Learning styles and theories transfers the knowledge and ideas into real techniques and
provide actual learning to the employees. It is very significant for the organisation to adopt
effective learning styles, because only one single learning styles in not convenient for single
events. Company should adopt multiple learning approaches and theories, so that employees get
more talented and knowledgable. Design of learning events can only possible when company
choosing the best technique and method to accomplish their overall target.
Contribution of learning style and the relationship between the styles and designing event
has been followed. It helps company to provide learning for on the job method. It gives better
results.

2.1 Various types of training needs for staff at various levels in the organisation
With the passage of time, the employees or the overall workforce has to be upgraded to
meet up with the changing trends in the market. It will not only give the company a better growth
in productivity but also provide the employees a sense of job satisfaction (Knowles, Holton and
Swanson, 2014). In case of Hilton hotel, training can be provided on the various level of
management to increase productivity.

Individual Level:
The training to an employee is given on the individual level to to improve his perception &
attitude towards work of the Hilton Group. This will not only help the employee to work
efficiently but also give him a chance to learn something new, which will give him a feeling of
self achievement (Armstrong and Taylor, 2014). Methods like vocational training can be used to
provide him with the training. It will develop their overall skill set to perform a job at Hilton
Group.
Group Level:
Providing training to a whole group of employee is a tedious task as a group is comprises of
many individuals with different level of skill set & individual performance potential. So the
Hilton Group has to first conduct a sort of training survey to determine the training model before
providing training to a complete group or department of employees keeping in mind the common
potential possessed by the team members (Brewster and Hegewisch, 2017). Training comprises
of workshops in groups is necessary to develop complex problem management skill & develop a
team spirit.
Corporate level:
Training at corporate level is most complex & effort oriented process but it is important
to improve the complete quality of the productivity & functioning of the organisation. At Hilton
group, training can be given keeping in mind the vision & strategy of the company.

Advantages:
ï‚· Knowledge & methods taught in classroom training can be easily revised & quickly
developed & analysed by implementing it face to face & getting feedback.

ï‚· the travelling cost of Classroom training is high as the participant has to visit at

2.3 Systematic approach to plan training event
It is important for the Hilton hotel to make sure that they develop a proper plan with the
help of which they are able to train workers in effective manner. It is important that proper
consideration is made in which they understand the requirement or issues that are faced by
employees so that through training they are able to develop their skills and capabilities (Budhwar
and Debrah, 2013). There are three posts for which training is scheduled and they are as follows:

They are one who provides proper

by the firm. When they are not able to

The staffs have learned a good amount of skills including basic IT training, soft skill training,
working in targeted time phase & in team to solve the complex problems that occurs in the
hospitality business (Knowles, Holton and Swanson, 2014). Apart from this, the training also
helped to develop better work understanding in the group to some extent & a sense of team spirit.
This skill sets learned & developed by the employees will not only help in increase the overall
performance of the group but also will provide a job satisfaction & self motivation to all the
individual participants of the training program. The skills of IT will help us to cope up with the
latest online trends of the market. Soft skill training will help the newly joined employees to
open up & will reduce the communication gap between the employee & customer as well as on
interpersonal level too.
The team spirit & mutual trust developed while attaining this training will help the employees on
a long way. But the time constraint target achievement approach has lead to an unnecessary
stress & competition among the team members.
Apart from this, the trainer was very well versed, polite & readily available in case of any sort of
doubt. He was soft spoken & of very helping nature (Underwood, 2000).
3.2 Analysing the responses to the evaluation
The response that was given by the employees was positive, they were able to develop
their skills and capabilities that were as per their job preference. There are in total different type
of posts that are taken in to consideration and these are highly effective to make sure that they
put on their full efforts with the help of which they can support the firm to grow (Stewart, Lee
and Poell, 2013). It is important for the business to make proper analysis of the business in such
a way that business is able to understand the requirement of customers and proper steps are taken
to understand them. The training provided has helped in making understand the requirement of
business and the type of roles that has to be played by them so that they are able to perform in
effective manner.
Based on the evaluation conducted above, we can say that the training process helps the
employee's of the cited firm to develop a better productivity and profitability. The employee's
who are been provided IT training will be able to handle IT related tasks in a more efficient and
effective manner. The training of the soft skill's development has helped the work force of the
Hilton Group to communicate and develop a better relation with the employee's. Besides this, the

managers will tackle the management related issues more efficiently after getting the training on
managerial skills.
3.3 Effectiveness of the evaluation form
In accordance with the training that was provided to employees of Hilton hotel, it can be
stated that they are able to perform improve the areas in which they lack. They are able to
understand the requirement of customers and are also able to deliver their appropriate services.
One of the main benefit that workers got is providing them training when they have identified the
areas in which improvement is required (Qureshi and Hassan, 2013). In this context, proper
monitoring was done so that the issues or improvement that is required can be identified, then
they were provided with training. At the initial stage, there was lack of communication and trust
but with time, employees were able to understand the benefits that they get when they are
provided with training.
Further, there different type of models that are also implemented through which
effectiveness of the training are identified. Some models are as follows:
ROI: It consists of five steps which are application, business impact, learning,
engagement and application. This is effective enough to make proper analysis of the
effectiveness.
Kirkpatrick: It consists of four levels which are learning, reaction, result and behaviour.
All these are highly effective to make sure that proper measures are taken.

4.1 Role of government in training, development and lifelong learning
Government plays an important role when it comes to training, development & lifelong
learning as this factors directly impact the economy of a nation (Wang, and et. al., 2014). Well
trained & efficient work force will help in development of company as well as the nation by
contributing to the economy. Having a stable interactive & innovatively time oriented training
system will help the government to get skilled work force.
The government, along with some trade unions, ensures that employees of various sectors get
appropriate & timely trainings. It will not only improve their skill set & overall personality, but
will also give them a job satisfaction.

Also, development of skill set is necessary to meet out the ongoing demands of the market
trends. Enhancement of employees skill set will aid in company's productivity which will further
lead to a stable & steady growth in economy.
Apart from this, the approach of lifelong learning not only helps the employee to develop new
skill sets to be used at workplace but also increase persons personal interest to learn something
productive & useful (Knowles, Holton and Swanson, 2014). Many times the government makes
some employee benefit schemes to ensure that they attain or get appropriate training which is
required to perform the specific tasks or businesses which will further lead to growth of economy
of the nation. Also, sometimes government gives some form of monetary or technical support to
the employees who want to develop some sort of specific, work intrinsic skill sets.
4.2 Impact of competency movement on public and private sector
Competency is the process that enables the firm to focus fulfilling their requirement of
job. It is identified that there are intense growth in private and public firms at UK. This is highly
effective enough to make sure that competitive advantages. Main aim of any firm is to gain
maximum profit. This is possible when they are able to understand the requirement of customers
and services are delivered accordingly (Armstrong and Taylor, 2014). Both private and public
sector conduct market research so that they are able to perform their set of roles in effective
manner. It is the responsibility of the business to make sure that they provide workers with
