INTRODUCTION
Human resource management is a key function of every business concern..
Administration requires adopting effective techniques , which help them to make firm function in
according to regulatory bodies and market conditions. It is essential that HRM practices such as
recruitment and selection require to be performed by management to employ adequate candidates
and fill vacant positions (Marchington and et. al., 2016). In this report, ASDA has been
considered for studying HRM practices. Employer require to frame adequate policies to make
system function in respect to government legislations. Management require to take appropriate
judgements which helps firm to utilise resources efficiently and make workers perform tasks and
timely attain targets. Along with this, superior even require to conduct performance appraisal to
acknowledge employees work. This helps company to anticipate staff members capabilities on
basis of results generated by them. Furthermore, HRM helps in effective training and skill
enhancement of employees.

In organisation, human resource department duty is to execute recruitment process which
helps employer to have adequate manpower and skilled members in firm. Administration require
to have accurate information about system and structure of firm. ASDA, which is famous retail
store which is situated in United Kingdom. HR manager of company is competent and proficient,
so decision making process is executed timely and appropriate judgements are made; which are
beneficial for business. This helps management in providing desired goods and services to
customers. (Grobelna and Marciszewska, 2016). ASDA which have established branches in
different nations require to have adequate workforce. Employer needed to frame suitable policies
and take care that employees get positive and healthy working environment. This helps executive
to make employees function effectively and conduct business operations globally.
Functions of human resource management:Fu Human resource management require to
perform duties and attain these responsibilities which are stated below:
Staffing: This is essential process which is executed by employer to acknowledge about
number of members available in organisation. Job analysis is adequate tool which helps manager
to conduct recruitment process and fill vacant positions. New individuals will perform activities
