1. The most appropriate leadership style
I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of armies of sheep led by a
lion. Leadership is a practice not so much in words as in attitude and in actions. The art of
communication is the language of leadership. A person who knows the way, goes the way and
shoes the way is a person known as leader. There are various approaches of leadership style but
in my opinion, democratic leadership is one of the best leadership approaches. This is the best
way to motivate employees and to reduce battles within organisation because in this style of
leadership, leaders involve each one in the decision making activity. For example: in my team, I
will involve my each and every team member in decision making activity. But sometimes, I
realize I also need to have an autocratic leadership style as because it happens in organisation
that sometimes need strictness. So according to the situation, leadership style would be changed.
2. Ethical behaviour that should be demonstrated to become a positive role model
Ethical behaviour tends to be good for business and involves demonstrating respect for
key moral principles that include honesty, fairness, equality, dignity, diversity and individual
rights. There are four types of ethical behaviours that make me a positive role model. I
demonstrate a positive role model by having honesty and integrity. I also gain trust and faith
frommy colleagues. For example: when I did any mistake, I will accept it honestly without any
lie that makes me to become a positive role model. In addition to this, I also possess fairness
among the people, I be never bias to anyone. This quality also makes me positive role model
within organisation. Besides this, I also give respect to everybody, my seniors and my
subordinates.

1. SMARTER Goal
I am working in IT Company and my profile is Business Associate. I do research and
make projects as per the requirements. But I want to become an Assistant Manager in my
company. I have to set a goal as a SMARTER goal. In order to become an Assistant manager, I
want to develop some skills like leadership skill, communication skills, management skills and
many others. To achieve the goals in life, it is essential that it should be SMARTER.

It is very important to handle my stress level correctly because stress leads to ineffective
performance. First I will identify, what type of stress I have like family stress, work load stress of
any other stress. If I have work load stress than I will set aside leisure time, so something that
makes me happy. Further, I will use to break the projects into small steps that will make me easy
to do work. I also eat healthy food.
2.Actions taken to alleviate stress to balance to work-life.
I will handle my stress by taking some actions that help me to alleviate strategies to
balance work life, I will take my work easily not as burden. I used to do regular exercise. When I
get tense, I relaxed my muscles. Take deep breath and eat well. I will make time for my family
and for my hobbies (singing, playing). The last and most important, I will talk about my
problems to my fires or any close person I have. I leave abusing alcohol and take enough sleep.

It is very important for me to assess my personal skills that I have, like I have good
communication skills, goods writing skills etc. Thus, in order to improve my skills much better,
it is very necessary for me to evaluate it. It can be evaluate or access by taking feedbacks from
my collogues and put them in my real situations, I will prepare self assessment. I can send my
personal questionnaires to some employees and ask them to fill, so that I can identify my
weaknesses and skills.
2.What is competency Standard?
Competency is the ability of an individual to do job properly. Competency is set of self
defined behaviours that provide a structured guide enabling to identify, evaluate and
development of the behaviours in individual employees. In short, it is total sum of skills, abilities
and knowledge in the behaviour of individual. Competency is still equated or defined as skills,
ability to perform, capacity, and knowledge. There are key competencies that is very necessary

decision making, leadership. These are the standard of competencies that an individual should
posses. There are some elements that should be considered while analysing the suitable
competencies:

There is a classification of competencies like administrative competencies, communication
competencies, team building competencies and cognitive competencies.
3.How can it be measured?
It is very important to measure the competency standard, this will help me to measure my
performance. There are number of ways for measuring competency which are as follows-
Annual Appraisal- This the best way to measure the competency. By appraisal, I can
identify my annual performance within organisation. Appraisal of company is one of the best and
effective way to measure the competency. Appraisal makes employees surprise as it is the
complete summary of performance.
360 degree feedback questionnaires- This is also one of the best way to measure
competency. 360 degree feedback means when feedback is taken by customers, colleagues,
peers, customer's and managers. 360 degree feedback means a person behaviour from many
points of view. 360 degree feedback is used in organisation for development purpose and for
improving skills and ethics of employees. One can know about strengths and weakness in a
better way after 360 degree feedback. 360 Degree feedback is very fruitful for me to complete
my project more efficiently in my future as because my work will be more improved.
Analysis of key performance indicators (KPI)- In order to measure the competency, this
is also the best way to evaluate the performance as in companies HR. use to KPI to measure the
performance. By key performance indicator performance can be analysed by setting the target,
what to do when to achieve.

one can easily know his/her actual performance.
4.What should be done if competency standard is not meat within organisation.
In my organisation, there is very high growth and development. It is very essential for me
to intake all the opportunities that organisation is offering. I have to work very delicately as
because the system and management of company is very strict, I cannot even stand or sustain in
the company if I will not able to improve my performance. If I not able to meet the competency
standard within my organisation than I will take serious actions, I will ask my manager to give
me training so that I can meet the competency standard. I will never be disappointed if I did not
able to meet competency standard. I will give more efforts on improvement of my performance, I
will seek feedback on my performance regularly by collogues and peers. I will take baby steps
and I will lean along the way. I will also build best team and best buddies who make me more
motivate as well as they also ensure success and truth. Professional development also plays a
vital role to increase my performance. It will take time but I will improve my performance in any
concern and I will meet the competency standard. Beside this, I will also make personal
development plan so that I will able to make the proper chart that what I am achieving and what I
have to achieved in the future.

1.What should you do if you receive negative feedback?
Receiving negative feedback is difficult at every point of carrier, but If I Will receive any
negative feedback then first I will listen it very carefully and patiently, and will take it as an
opportunity and will try to learn from it. Negative feedback are always appreciated by me
because this is the best way of knowing yourself more and work on it for my improvement.
Negative feedback are always positive learning chance for every person. So, I should sharp my
skills, and grow my knowledge by negative feedbacks and be an overall better person. Negative
feedback always helps in improvement of one's personality. So this is the best way to learn and
work on drawbacks. So I will always learn from my negative feedback.
2.If you receive positive feedback, does it automatically mean that I have.
Receiving positive feedback does not mean that you are perfect. Positive feedback are sometimes
given for motivating a person so that he/she can work with more efforts. Positive feedbacks

receive positive feedback, I will take it as a positive boost but will not ever get over confident

There are many types of learning styles and every person has a different way of learning.
Learning styles falls in to 3 categories:
1. Visual learners
2. Auditory learners
3. Kinaesthetic learner
Visual learner- These are those who learn by the use of images, maps, and graphics to understand
any new thing or information. For example, a person who learn by seeing only graphs, diagrams
and pictures. People who are visual learner are tends to be technically oriented as well as enter in
the field of engineering. I am visual learner.
Linguistic Learner- These are those learners who learns from their linguistic skills in which
reading, writing, speaking and listening are included. For example, If someone wants to be
linguistic learner than he/she would have to tackle a new skill, first they would read about the
topic then listen to audio recording and then prepare notes on the particular topic. After than one
should have to either speak or write about it.

Naturalist learner- These are those learners who learn by working and experience and nature.
These type of learners are called scientist as because scientist learn by working and experiencing.
Further, this type of learners learn by loves taking experience, they also learn and love to observe

I am a visual learner who learns by use of photos and graphs rather than listening things
as because this is the best way to learn and in my office I am known to be a technical learner.
Everyone has a different style of learning things. But further in future I will try to learn from

become a linguistic learner than I will be able to learn and develop myself more within my
organisation and my career.

competencies. It is very important for me to grab and develop opportunities. There are various
opportunities available within my organisation and which can be used to gain competence. Here
are the methods which are used to improve as well as develop competencies are as follows-
Coaching-This is the best way to learn and develop as well as gain competence. I have
visual learning style, thus coaching is the best opportunity for me to learn and develop more. It
is a simple and inexpensive methods to improve and gain competencies.
Voluntary training- This is also one of the best and modern methods of learning as,
nowadays all organisation are providing training to employees. I can also take voluntary training
by attaining seminars, e-learning programmes etc. I
Job Shadowing- This is new and modern methods of new hires. In job shadowing, it is
very effective for me to become advance. The key here is to determine the top performers and
have other employees to observe them whenever possible. At that time, shadowed gain an
opportunity to train others. So that I can also develop more styles of learning.
