INTRODUCTION
Events can be described as form of gathering on any occasion. In the following project
report, an attempt has been made to analyse and examine the different types and dimensions of
events with an analysis of the major trends influencing the event sectors.
TASK 1 (Individual Written Report)
P1 Examination of different categories and dimension of events.
Organising and arranging a public occasion can take place in different forms and types of
events according to the needs and requirements. Events can be classified into three different
major categories and can further be classified into sub-categories as follows:
Private Events:
Private event is a form of event in which individuals host a gathering to celebrate any
occasion and only a certain group of people or a limited number of guests are welcomed. Venue
under a private event is not open to everyone and usually a guest list is prepared by the
individuals hosting the event to ensure only a certain people are invited at the event. In the
context of Kuoni Destination Management, many forms of private events are handled and
organised by the company. Some of the common examples of private events are weddings,
birthday parties etcetera.
Weddings: Most of the private events are organised for celebration purpose on occasions
such as weddings where privacy and gathering of close people is a primary concern for the hosts.
A wedding event is usually organised for a few days under which many functions and
ceremonies take place.
Corporate Events:
Corporate events can be described as events which are used by companies and business
organisations for the promotion of their products and services and creating brand awareness
among general public. They are usually large-scale events with a large number of people as
guests or the participants of the event. Corporate events are very vital and crucial for any
company to increase its public awareness and foster healthy relationships with the existing
customers and other stakeholders (Raj, Walters and Rashid, 2017). Corporate events are very
essential in promoting a new launched product or service by an organisation. Many type of
corporate events are organised by the management of Kuoni Destination Management such as
