TASK 4Interpersonal skills are the skills used by a person to interact with others properly. In thebusiness domain, the term generally refers to an employee's ability to get along with others whilegetting the job done. Interpersonal skills include everything from communication and listeningskills to attitude and deportment (Anderson, Song and Patterson, 2016). Good interpersonal skillsare a prerequisite for many positions in an organization. Interpersonal skills helps in improvingthe relationship with team members working to achieve common goals and objectives. In orderto plan for an event, effective interpersonal skills are essential. It assists in improving theeffectiveness of Open Day event and lead to the path of success efficiently. Thus, in this contextthe evaluation of interpersonal skills are provided below:Active listening: Active listening is an essential interpersonal skills. In order to plan forOpen Day event, the event planner must listen to the needs and expectation of teammembers and recommends them with precise solution (Bedwell, Fiore and Salas, 2014).This will aid in eliminating the conflicts from the team.Team Building: In order to make an event successful, event planner must work abreastwith his or her team, so that common goals and objectives can be accomplishedeffectively and efficiently. Team building is an essential interpersonal skills and must bepossess by the event planner. This will increase the effectiveness of the event and eventcan be successful.Collaboration: Collaboration in interpersonal skills means working in team with propercoordination and collaboration so that the common goals and objectives can beaccomplished effectively and efficiently (Stickley, Gosling and Fox, 2017). In order tomake Open Day event successful, the planner must work with other members of team andauthorities, collectively and collaboratively. This will increase the effectiveness of theeventCommunication: Communication can be verbal and non-verbal. Communication must beeffective enough which eliminates doubts and confusion between team members(Dagger, Sweeney and McColl-Kennedy, 2013). Thus, it is an important interpersonalskill which must be posses by the event planner. Communication helps in increasing theeffectiveness and efficiency of the event. Further, it also reduces or minimises theconsequences effectively and efficiently.1
