Overview of the research
In today's competitive world talent management has become an important and crucial part
of every organisation as it plays a vital role in enhancing overall skills and competencies of a
company (Bratton and Watson, 2018). Talent management is mainly associated with attracting
and retaining skilled and most competent employees and also associated with providing timely
training and development programmes for workforce. Haven Hotel is situated at central London,
offers traditionally furnished rooms and other services to its customers. Being operating in a
Hospitality industry, it become crucial for this hotel to adopt proper talent management strategies
in order to maintain its competitive strength and better position.
Research aim
The aim of this research work is, “To understand the importance of talent management
together with various strategies and steps of HR manger and leaders to retain and develop its
employees in more effective way”.
Research Objectives
The main motto and objectives associated with this research project conducted on Haven
Hotel are pointed out as follows:
 To understand the importance of talent management in enhancing the competitive
strength and overall growth of a hospitality organization. To evaluate various steps and strategies that can be adopted by HR mangers and leaders
of Haven Hotel to have better talent management in order to retain and develop its
employees (Ghatule, 2018).

 What important role is lead by of talent management in enhancing the competitive
strength and overall growth of a hospitality organization?

The purpose and significance for a research
The main purpose of this research work is having better understanding about the
importance of talent management from point of view of organization and employees in order to
get better competencies and strength in business environment. Selection of this research topic is
significant and rational as it provide information about the various steps and strategies that can
be adopted by a manager of hospitality organisation to have better talent management, this
research topic is justifiable as in today's competitive environment it become necessary for all
organisation especially in hospitality sector to adopt and have better talent management to attract
and retain its top talent. Further, the selected topic based on talent management is also suitable
form point of view of educational and academic purpose of research and also meet the personal
interest of investigator.
Activities and timescale
In order to present research activities in a more systematic way following Gantt chart are
prepared that has facilitates clarity and transparency in work and ensure timely completion of
investigation.

Chapter 2: Literature review
Literature Review is process of survey with the source on a particular topic. It basically
provides the summary of the present knowledge, to determine the relevant theories, methods and
differences in the existing research.

According to David Simpson , 2018, the talent management is the process by which the
organization identify or scrutinizing the effective talented people who have delivered the better
outcomes as well having good impact on the organization. The strategy of talent management
used to bring a positive change in business environment by approach to potential and skilled
employees to provide them an better opportunity in which they can perform and create a
benchmarks as well as accomplish the desirable goals of organization. Human Resource is

operates the talent management activities in respective organization. Its importance in every
organization that it makes attract towards high potential and skill employees where it facilities
the more creativity in hospitality industry which is essential that improves the competitive
strength and better positing in business firms, it increases the employees motivation level which
creates the aura of staying in the company with many reasons where it enhanced the employees
and business performances as per on high deliverables, the beneficial impact of the talent
management is also works to client satisfaction (Hajkazemian and Kamali, 2018).
To evaluate various steps and strategies that can be adopted by HR mangers and leaders of
Haven Hotel to have better talent management in order to retain and develop its
employees.
According to Clare Bettelley, 2017, the strategies of effective talent management
includes the best selection process of employees at time of hiring by the experts of Human
resources, to hire those candidates who can seems to be fits for organisational cultural or better
understanding of it that can bring favourable outcomes towards the organisation. By adapting of
this strategies who can support the HR managers as well top level management of Heaven hotels
to have a better analysation about the candidate as well as it allows the collaborate among couple
of department in hotel, recognition or appraisal might be a part of talent management in which it
provides effective employees performance brings the positive outcomes on the basis of the
rewards and appreciation of particular employees work gives a sense of accomplishment as well
it will improvise the competencies of Heaven Hotel's employees (Hughes and Murray, 2018).
Facilitating the golden opportunities to impactful candidates where they contributes their
effective skills and knowledge to accomplish the objectives. Furthermore, in Heaven Hotels the
employee engagement activities like promotions and appreciation are suitable strategies as it
builds the morale as well the competencies of the workers through providing internal motivation
in employees. On a regular basis of training and development programs at Heaven Hotels can
leads towards the better relationship among peers as well as work culture in which they furnish
their skills to further aspects.
Chapter 3: Research Methodology
Research methodology are mainly associated with the various types of research method
and approaches that are used for an investigation to ensures effective data collection and better

performance of other activities associated with a research. A brief description together with
justification is provided below with respect to the methods and approaches used for this research
work.
Research philosophy- It is basically of two type that includes Positivism and the other is
Interpretivism use of which can be made by a researcher to accomplish an investigation (Latukha
and Veselova, 2019). In accordance to current research work on Haven Hotel use of Positivism
research philosophy is more suitable as it facilitates a more easy and practical way for
conducting research.
Research method- Qualitative and quantitative are the two main and most commonly
used research method that provide better collection of data and conduction of other research
topic (Latukha, ed. al., 2018). For this particular research conducted on Heaven Hotel use of
quantitative research method is more suitable as lead to gathering of data in numeric terms in
form of numbers that can be easily converted into frequency table and other charts thus, lead to
more better and clear presentation of research findings.
Research approach- Out of inductive and deductive research approach use of deductive
is made as it the suitable approach for analysis and generalisation of quantitative research
method that is used for current investigation (Latukha, , 2018).
Cost, access and ethical issues- In order to accomplish a research work in a systematic
way adequate amount of finance is needed in order to procure various resources and assets.
Further, access and reach to authentic and reliable information is also necessary. To overcome
the various ethical issues, proper principles and morale of ethics are fulfilled by researcher to
ensure that none of the research work should adversely harm or effect any individual or
associated parties. Thus, written consent through signing of consent form is taken from all
respondents and overall participants of research.
Sampling- It is bifurcated in two categories i.e. probability and non-probability that are
used by a research to select a small number of unit form a large population which are having
some similar characteristics to accomplish analysis in more effective way (Maurya and Agarwal,
2018). For current research work, a sample size of 20 respondents are selected from managers
and directors of Haven Hotel through the help of probability sampling. Use of probability
sampling is more effective as reduce the chances of biasness and favoritism from research work.

Data collection- It is mainly collected from primary and secondary sources and with
regard to current research work on Heaven Hotel use of both are made (Mishra and Kumar,
2019). It is justifiable as primary sources ensures collection of data directly from research
participants while secondary facilitates better understanding and evaluation of past fact that
create suitable framework for research.
Instrument used- The instruments used for performing current research includes survey
method where data is collected with the help of questionnaire that is a written instrument and
facilitates collection of data from primary sources (Obeidat,, ed. al. 2018).
Use of following questionnaire is made to collect information from 20 managers and
directors of Heaven Hotel as facilitates most easiest and reliable method to gather their
perceptive on topic of talent management.

It basically includes the information about the expected shareholders and modes of
communication through which the overall findings and results of investigations are transferred
and communicated. A description about shareholders, communication modes and convincing
argument for this current research work on Heaven Hotel is provided below:
Stakeholders- The total number and size of stakeholders plays a significant role in
conducting and effectively completing a research work. The stakeholders includes all the
individuals and parties that have influence over decision making and functions of an organisation
and are directly or indirectly affected by the functions of a company. The stakeholders of Heaven
Hotel includes its directors, clients, business partners, employees, mangers, customers, suppliers
and other related practices out of which managers and directors are selected as participants for

current research work. The reason behind selecting managers and directors for this investigation
as they are the one who are having the maximum information regarding talent management and
strategies of Heaven Hotel.
Communicating research outcomes- Out of the different modes of communication like
spoken worlds, written form, digital and online use of digital and online form of communication
are adopted for current research work. In order to timely communicate with team members use of
both formal and informal modes of communication are used. Further, information and result of
research are communicated with stakeholders through making use of e-mails and social media
network to ensure uninterrupted and regular flow of information.
Convincing arguments- This investigation includes all crucial aspects of talent management
in hospitality industry that focused on its importance together with strategies that lead to better
management of talent in organisation. It has evaluated form this research report that talent
management plays an important role in enhancement in productivity and creativity of employees
through timely training and development programme that facilitates better competitive strength
and business position (Rožman and Tominc, P 2018). Further, it can be evaluated that, regular
training, participative management and effective communication are the ways that lead to better
development and management of talent within an organisation.
Chapter 6: Reflection and recommendation for alternative research
methodology
Reflection
I am grateful that i got this opportunity of performing research on current topic i.e “To
understand the importance of talent management in enhancing the competitive strength and
overall growth of a hospitality organization.” An investigation conducted on Haven Hotel. This
research has enhanced my knowledge about the importance of talent management and also
provides a better understanding about the strategies that lead to effective management and
development of talent. Further many issues are also encountered by me related with timely
completion of work together with performance of activities in an ethical way. Use of Gantt chart
is made by me to have better bifurcation of work and activity in manageable chunk. Beside this,
to collect authentic data use of questionnaire is made by me. Thus, this research work has
facilitated improvement in my overall skills and lead to better opportunity for me in future.

Recommendation for alternative research methodology
The alternative research methodology that can be used by me includes inductive research
approach that facilitates better generalisation of theoretical data collected with the help of
qualitative research method. Further, use of interview can be made as research instruments to
collect primary information but it is lengthy and complex process to collect in depth information
through making use of interview in place of questionnaire.
Chapter 7: Conclusion and recommendation
Conclusion
In accordance with above research work it can be concluded that talent management is
important for a hospitality organisation to enhance its competitive strength and overall viability.
Talent management facilities enhancement in skills and competencies of employees, Increase
productivity, Attract and retain top talent and also lead to better creativity and innovation at
workplace. Further, it can be summarised that regular training and development programmes,
participative management and leadership approach together with effective communications are
effective strategies to develop and manage talent in an organisation.
Recommendations
With respect to above research findings and evaluation, it is recommended for Heaven
Hotels that it should provide regular training and development programmes for its employees as
it sharpen their skills and competencies thus, facilitates better mangent of talent. Further,
adoption of participative leadership style and effective communication is also recommended for
Heaven Hotel as it facilitates better relations and bonding that retain talented employees for
longer period of time thus, maintain competitive strength and other competencies of
organisation.
