TITLE: “How globalisation can drive business success”
CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Globalisation is the process of free movement of products, services and people in all over
the world in integrated manner. It is the process of interaction and integration among people,
organisation and government in worldwide. Globalisation has been grown due to advancement in
transportation and communication technology (Crane and Matten, 2016). With the increasing in
global business communication that come with the growth of international trade, ideas and
culture. The report is based on Sainsbury organisation which is the second largest chain of
supermarket which is situated in United Kingdom with around 16.9% share in this sector. The
main purpose of this assignment is to analyse aims and objectives of specific topic in better
manner. Along with this, literature review is essential for evaluating different authors and
scholars view point regarding research theme.
Background of company
Sainsbury is the leading retail organisation which operate and regulate their business
operations in the United Kingdom. It is established by John James Sainsbury with the shop in
Drury Lane, London, the company became the largest retailer store in the year of 1922. They are
offer different type of goods and services to their customers and satisfy their needs and wants. It
is mainly sell grocery goods which gain attention of large number of customers.
Significance of research
In order to reach with higher growth, Sainsbury need to expand business operations and
its activities at global level. The investigation is essential because this will assist researcher is to
identify main issues and problems that are faced by them at the time of gaining higher growth
and success (Laszlo and Cescau, 2017). With the help of globalisation, company can easily
driven high success and growth level so that they can reach with desired goals and targets.

A literature review discuss about published facts and figures towards specific topic area.
It is the simple summary of methods and mainly use particular organisational structure and it is
integrated with both summary and concise concept (Wheelen and et. al., 2017). In this part, there
are various writers and authors which are given their views and opinion towards specific topic of
research. In this, literature review is a secondary method which does not record new and real
inquiry of task or work.

business
Globalisation is the procedure which integrate and combine among people, organisation
and government in all across the world. It is grown due to advancement of communication and
transportation methods. The globalisation of business has became rapid and fast in gaining high
growth and success. With the help of globalisation, company can develop effective strategies or
policies which are helpful in reaching with desired goals and targets effectively. The

in reducing cost of transmitting and communicating information. It is the main key factor which
directly affect on company business operations as well as its strategies. When Sainsbury try to
expand their business so they required to make proper improvement in their strategies and
policies. Then this will assist in driving higher success and growth level for an organisation and
also gain attention of large number of customers towards new brands.
