INTRODUCTION
English language is complex in nature as it should be important for receiver to heard
every aspects of it as then only they would be able to understand it. In this report, two text will
be critically analyse and coherent with the help of arguments and biases.
1.1 Critical analysis of two given text and support it by bias and arguments
Two main text which have been use for critical analysis is Martin Luther King Jr. “ I have
a dream” Speech and other is Equality and Diversity policy of the British Library.
I HAVE A DREAM
Martin Luther King Jr, is a famous activist of America who fought for the civil rights of
the black people which Americans called them Negro. Famous speech was delivered by him on
August 28, 1963 in the march of jobs and freedom against racism and economic rights (Dr.
Martin Luther King's 'I Have a Dream' speech, 2019)
There are two main arguments in the speech i.e., protagonist has used phrase “one
hundred years later” to specify the problems black people are facing in the American society due
to racism and slavery. Main focus of Sir Martin is to through some lights on the past struggle
there people is facing and argues by stating “promissory note” which American did not comply
with.
Apart from this, focus of the event is to illuminate the economic and social injustice
which Black Americans are facing. White America ere exploiting them and enjoying their
richness in which Sir Martin argues that black people are living in the lonely island of poverty of
vast ocean of material prosperity. He was evoking thousands of followers to remove the unseen
glass between them and sit together at the table of brotherhood.
In the whole speech it can be seen the speaker is biased towards the black people as there
were only few black American whole were facing backlash of being what they are. But on the
other hands, Sir Luther King was using “all Negroes” which depicts that every black individual
in the America is facing racism (King, 1985)
EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY POLICY
Equality and diversity policy states that each and every individual should be awarded
salary and wages according to the performance done by them instead on the basis of caste,
religions, creed etc (Shaw, 2005). Main argument of making this a policy because every human

being has a right to enjoy and use what belongs to them like freedom of speech, diversity etc.
There is no bias in this policy is as people word is used instead of male and female (Equal
opportunity and diversity, 2019).
1.2 Different uses of English language
There is vast difference between in both the text in terms of usage of English and in the
first one, vague words were used by the speaker with the aim of making speech affective. On the
other hand, every word in the policy has been written clearly so that any ambiguity in the phrases
would be removed.
In the speech biases where used by the author for instance, Negro word is been used by
Sir Martin to show the injustice “some” black people is facing so that more words would be feel
and understand by the listeners (King, 1968). In Policy, there was no discriminate as people word
is used and more specifically Male and Female to show the unbiased statement (Equality policy,
2019).
2.1 Documents for stated purpose and audience
It was the event of motivating millions of employees who have been facing
discrimination by other people in the same country on the basis of social and economical. Martin
started their lines by stating Emancipation proclamation which was signed to remove the racism
in the American society for black people. He stated that American have not been able to
properly comply with the rules and regulations according to the treaty due to which black people
are facing slavery from past 100 years. He brings various arguments in which he addressed that
there people has come to “cash a check” which implies freedom from slavery, liberty, pursuit of
happiness to every black individual in America as well as in whole country. Main focus of the
speech is to provide direction to the people who has been exploited due to numerous of reasons.
Moreover, equality and discrimination free society is the backbone of the speech “I have a
dream” and share his vision of seeing the black and white people sitting on a single bench like a
brotherhood. Different dreams of Sir Martin has been shared in the speech like, he has a dream
of seeing justice and freedom in Mississippi and in the whole world instead of injustice. He has
a dream of seeing his children not been judged on the basis of colour and he has a dream of
seeing their kids by holding hands of white kids as a sisters and brothers (King, 1985).

Ghana is a stable nation. This country has been doing better than any one location within
West Africa. In this regard, there are a number of challenges that the country is continuously
facing which hinders the growth of nation. In this regard, I think that the first and the foremost
challenge in the journey of development of this nation is ascertained to be political stability. The
biggest hurdle in this regard is the economic conditions of nation. Ghana has been successful in
coping with the first challenge which can be seen from the fact that it is among the stable
countries of West Africa (although not the most stable). There has not been a major outbreak of
conflict within the confines of this nation since independence. In fact, Ghana continues to be the
island where peace prevails within a turbulent ocean. In terms of economic conditions, I think
that this country has been doing relatively good since the year 1957. Excessive poverty and/or
deprivation have not been encountered within this nation. I believe that there are still many
people who struggle with food, housing, electricity, water, electricity and particularly jobs. This
has been ascertained to be the biggest challenge of the nation. In order to beat these challenges,
people must liberalise the economy, encourage foreign as well as local investment. Further, I
think huge extent of domestic savings should be encouraged with a view to enable the banks to
lend money to business entities for the purpose of investment.
CONCLUSION
As from the above mentioned information it can be summarised that usage of English is
vast and wide and it is hard for receiver to understand without understand the basics for it like
tone, verbs, nouns etc.
