INTRODUCTION
Developing high skills and knowledge contributes in employee engagement and in growth process as well. Developing
employee or an individual skill helps to engage the skills and upgrade their existing knowledge in order to perform better. Present
study will base on developing individual skills in the context of Whirlpool. However, it will be explaining the professional knowledge,
skills and behaviour required by HR. personal skill audit to measure the appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviours also going to be
discuss in order to develop personal professional development plan. Overall, report describes the Whirlpool effective team
management skill and presenting how they are contributing in business decision making process. Further, it will also investigate the
importance of continuous learning which helps in high performance outputs.
P1. Appropriate and professional knowledge, skills and behaviours required by HR professionals
Knowledge:
HR professional to be accorded the respect and status of being true professionals which supports organisation in all appropriate
manner (Bolden, 2016). HR professional role in Whirlpool helps to aligned with personnel and administration functions that were
viewed by the organisation as paperwork. With the help of HR professionals Whirlpool can easily implement the restructuring
changes within the environment. That helps to keep employees happy and satisfied.
Human resource knowledge
HR department were known as personnel department in the organisation. It is used for departments that manage the concern of
employees, workers in order to develop employee talent and productivity level among them all (Nemer and Vieira, 2018). Personnel
refers to human being, while resources are all the tools recruit, manage and train people to be better employees. There are given some
knowledge required by HR professionals.
Knowledge of Recruitment & Selection: HR experts of Whirlpool should have noises about the all recruitment and selection
process of finding and attracting the potential resources for filling up vacant position for whirlpool. This knowledge helps to select bet
productive candidate for the vacant position (Raes and et.al., 2015).

Knowledge of HR principles: it is another core knowledge that should have by HR professionals. Principles helps them to
choose the correct path in order to implement the best planning and resources. HR principles includes hire slowly, use technology,
make everyone accountable, encourage innovation among Whirlpool employees. All HR principles helps Whirlpool to keep employee
productivity sustain (Reese, 2018).
Knowledge of training & development: Training and development knowledge is must have required by HR experts. This
knowledge helps HR to learn specific knowledge or skills to improve performance in their current roles.
Knowledge of compensation benefits: this knowledge is a sub discipline of human resource which focused on employee
compensation and the benefits' policy making. This knowledge always makes employees happy and satisfied with the company
environment (Ressler and Schober, 2016).

Communication skills: HR professional should always be a good communicator that helps to over issue before escalating and
convey company standards clearly (Garg and Han, 2018). Communication skills of HR also can resolve the conflict among employees
of Whirlpool.
Time management skills: Time management skills should be very much essential for the HR employees to manage the work
into systematic manner.
Employee Relation: A successful business been always thrived on secure employees or employer relationship. With the help
of support of employees, company can resolve all concerns of the company (Bourne 2016). HR individuals resolve the query of
employees and listen concerns to develop or creates a more satisfying work environment for employees and employers alike.
Strong conflict management skills: It is very complex process to deal with conflicts in business environment. HR
professionals have the skills to manage the conflict between all employees (Gupta and Pathak, 2018). HR experts identify the problem,

come up with the possible solutions and negotiate a solution making charges. Conflict is natural, but HR experts rightly correct the
conflict management skills and ability to resolve all concerns (Iles and Hayers, 2016).
Organisational skills: It is another skill that should HR professional have in their business practises. It helps to reduce the
burden of employees and make them comfortable and happy within the Whirlpool environment (Jackson, 2016).
Technical skills: Technical skills are another skill that exist in HR professional which helps to make them more fast or
intelligent
Behaviour required by HR professionals
HR should always be like honest individuals for the company. On the other hand, they always need to implement solution-
oriented strategies in Whirlpool to encourage employee morale. However, HR experts also having the behaviour of technology savvy
as well which helps to implement policies into more specific manner (Ressler and Schober, 2016). HR professionals also very polite
and be calm towards their employees’ staff in Whirlpool employees and goals.
Confident: HR professional should have always confident towards their work process. Confident behaviour always taken right
decision making in the management functions.
Reliability: HR specialist are always needs to be considered real situations without any kind of insulins. They need to accept
reality without considering anything vague.
