INTRODUCTION
HRM is the important part of company as it recruits effective employees. It helps in
selecting candidates from a pool of prospective candidates which is required so that tasks may be
accomplished in desired manner. It is also warned candidates about legal issues prevailing in the
company which are with selection procedure. (Rodríguez-Carvajal and et.al, 2014). The same
process should be equal and no discrimination should be made, as it is ethically wrong. Further,
for making organisation diverse, employees may be hired globally so that different cultures will
have a good impact on overall productivity of the organisation and as such, it will flourish in the
market.
TASK 1
1.1 Presenting documentation for recruitment procedure
The requisite documents required for recruiting new staff is as follows:
1. Providing approval regarding process of selection-
The same procedure is initiated by the highest jurisdiction of the organisation give
approval of the same. Organisation when require new staff, then it posts an advertisement in
which describe the job requirements. After providing approval of the same or document, the
jurisdiction of organisation will provide same intimation to the department of human resource
(Aitkenhead and McCann, 2017). The intimation must be copy furnished electronically of the
advertisement.
2. Position described-
PM Company should describe the vacancy of the post, which they are looking for so that
adequate staff may be recruited. The top jurisdiction of PM Company has to give approval of the
described position. PM organisations must need to prepare a proper job description within new
recruitment process of the business in order to fulfilment of their vacant post within the
organisation effectively.
3. Advertising-
This is one of the important task, which is required to recruit a new staff. As, a HR
manager of the company it will prepare a proper job advertisement within the organisation with
helping my subordinates HR professionals within the firm effectively. PM company must need to

prepare the advertisement. Various forms are print media, electronic media and other forms,
which are used to prepare job advertisement in the organisation.
4. Recruitment process:
There are several processes of recruitment process can be taken into action in order to
fulfilment of new staff in the PM corporation. As a HR manager I will take aptitude test of all
candidates within the firm and conduct interview in order to check out the skills of each
candidates to recruit new staff in the organisation.
1.2 Discuss legal, regulatory and ethical considerations regarding selection procedure
The considerations regarding legal and that of ethical on the selecting procedure in the
organisation are numerous. One of them is Discrimination act 1970, This states that employees
may not be discriminated on the basis of several reasons within the firm effectively like colour,
race, marriage status, cast, sex etc. in case of discrimination of these reasons in the corporation,
they must take legal action against the organisation in order to get proper remedy of it. All the
workers at working at similar post should be provided it and equal wages. If any discrimination
is there, then employee can file a complaint against the company prevailing in the procedure of
selecting candidates.
According to equality act 2010 regulations which furnish provisions against other kinds
of such inequalities, which should not be there in the organization. This includes discrimination
based on race, age, sex etc. All the employees who have come for the interview should have
equality in the same procedure. Another factor is such as diversity has also become main issue in
this scenario. It hires employees from global reach, they select people from diverse cultures, and
hence diversity is created (Wylie, 2017). Then those candidates can take legal action against PM
company according to the legal provisions mentioned in the equality act 2010,Moreover, no
discrimination activity be there in new recruitment process and working culture in the
organisation as well. The recruiters in the procedure should be rational and unbiased.
1.3 Presenting my participation in selection procedure
As a HR manager in PM company, I have made contribution in the selection process of
the organisation and also attended part of such selection process and has taken interview of
candidates on following grounds.

1. Job Analysis: I have made contribution in job analysis of PM company to identify description
of job and helped my subordinates in order to conduct proper job analysis in the company. It is
important part of selection process.
2. Advertisement of the requirement of candidates: This is the best option of informing
candidates that company is hiring. As a HR manager of PM company I will give Advertisement
in newspaper and other forms as well.
3. Screening process: I have made screening checked at the time of recruitment process.It
involves basic check of candidates like qualifications, age so that he may fit for the job.
4. Form: Candidate is required to fill out form, which has certain questions on the basis of stated
vacant position, which is required by PM Company. It provides clarity and more knowledge
about the candidate.
5. Tests: Most commonly, skills of the employees arer tested by taking hand written tests of
them.
6. Face to face interview: It formulates a panel of members for conducting interview of the
selected candidate who has cleared the test. It is taken to analyze qualities such as
communication skills of him.
7. Referencing and fitness: Also, candidate who is selected, has to show some references and
proof of being fit medically.
8. Offering job to selected candidate: As a HR manager in PM corporation finally I make final
decision of those candidates who is going to provide offer in the organisation.
1.4 Give own contribution to the selection procedure in the company
As a Human resource Manager in PM organisation, I will try to ensure that the procedure
of selection of the candidate is fairly done.
I made contribution to treat better in the Good proportion of female and male staff will be
appointed. This will help each selected candidates within the organisation in effective manner.
Moreover, candidates from local areas will be also be recruited so that they get equal chance. I
made ensured that no discrimination in the procedure or after the same is done. The judges in
panel should treat all the candidates equally while having interview of those candidates
(McMillan and Wood, 2017).
Candidates should be selected on merit basis and not be discriminated on basis of religion
and caste. In simple words, equality will be taken in the same procedure. Legal action will be
taken if one has done any unethical practices. For better diverse workforce, good panel of
members are required so that they select workforce with much ease.

2.1 Skills and attributes for leadership
1. Communication Skills- Leader should be excellent in having communication with others.
Moreover, should have better relationship skills as well with team members. All the employees
will listen to all the guidelines effectively if he solves their queries as well. Better
communication will help them to achieve work with much ease and also overlapping of work
will be eradicated.
2. Motivator: He should try to motivate and give encouragement to the employees. Individual
goals and objectives should be provided to each of them as well. The motivation is required so
that workers may accomplish tasks with full efficiency (Malone and Hayes, 2017). Leader
should try to give motivation to all the weak employees so that overall efficiency may be
achieved.
3. Decision Skills: He takes critical decisions in any organization only in the best interest of the
organisation. The problem solving skills is required so that fast decisions may be taken. This will
help organization to have a quick approach to take any vital decisions and employees will
perform accordingly.
2.2 Distinguish leadership and management.

decisions and does not delegate any authority to subordinates.
Participative leadership style
This leadership style provides full participation in decision making process in the company is
assigned similar role and participation is accepted from employees ( Mobley, 2018). It is the best
as it helps to motivate team and grievances of the workers are resolved as well.
Free rein leadership style
In this, huge changes in the organization occurs. In this leader ensures that employees take
participation and also decisions should be made by them. As such, team building is achieved by
applying this leadership style.
2.4 Outline ways to motivate staff
To motivate people is important so that overall efficiency of employees may be regained.
Motivation is required as they are tired because of tedious tasks they all accomplished daily in
the organization. They also feel to leave the job, as it seems to be boring. For removing these
defects, motivation may be done.
Main source of motivation is monetary benefits to workers. I will provide some
monetary benefits to employees who performed well so they are motivated nicely. Based on such
monetary benefits, they will be highly motivated. They will be highly encouraged by such act
and will perform even more better. Moreover, recognition is helpful tactic to motivate them as
well. Trophies will be awarded to those who performed well . On day-to-day activities, some

entertaining activities should be done so that employees may not feel bored and as a result, they
remain motivated. This ensures that they stick to organization and perform well.
Employees motivation is a practice of organization that helps in improving motivation and
encouragement within staff member. In this aspect, manager of the organization recognize and
appreciate employees for their performance and this appreciation is considered in terms of
monetary and non monetary rewards. Intrinsic motivation is related to the voluntary motivation.
This type of motivation has element of autonomy, personal goal and eagerness. On the other
hand extrinsic motivation is the opposite that exist outside of a person. There are several
theories of employees motivation such as Maslows Herzberg and Two factor theory. In the Tow
factor theory, employees motivation have two factors that is motivator factor and hygienic factor.
Motivator factor includes effective pay, fringe benefits, reward etc. On the other hand Hygenic
factor include promotion, increment etc.

3.1 Outline the benefits of team-working for PM Company
Increase in efficiency-
Efficiency increases because of team work of the members. Team work help to achieve
better output that might not be accomplish by single employee as a result, each team member can
focus on one and accomplish task perfectly. Moreover, time is reduced as well to accomplish
allocated task. (Nickles, T.H.O.M.A.S., 2018).
Trust-
Team building helps to make sure that trust is build among all. In PM Company, it is
required to build team trust so that employees may be able to work with full efficiency and also
problems of organization may be solved as well.
Innovation-
This is needed so that problems can be solved with much ease, which are associated with
the company and can be solved by effective team work. Solutions are found out because of
innovation. Moreover, in a team is another tool to get new ideas and solutions which is through ,
brainstorming.
Team working helps to the organization in increasing the innovation and quality of work. While
two and more people works together at workplace then they share their knowledge, idea,
benefits, information etc. This practice helps in improving quality of work so as they can acheive
the objective in effective and efficient manner.

3.2 Significance of working in a team as a leader and member.
Leader is a person who will solve the problems with much ease, which is currently faced
by PM Company, and as such, he will resolve all such problems, which is hampering
productivity of work (Ha-Vikström and Takala, 2018). Entire structure needs to be formulated so
that it may solve problems too much extent.
Leader is the one who has essence of taking timely decisions As such; leader is required
for effective team working and building good atmosphere in the organisation. The importance of
team working is that it will increase the overall efficiency of employees as in team they will be
able to perform well and thus goals of the organisation will be effectively met with much ease.
3.3 Outline effectiveness of the team
1. Clarify the objectives to employees-
Team members should be conveyed the objectives of the organization and of the team as well.
As if they achieve clarity, then on this basis, their duties and obligations of them should be
decided. All members of the team should know their responsibilities. This help in avoiding
duplication of work and goals will be achieved with much ease.
2. Interacting with prospective client-
Interaction is required with clinet so that their needs may be assesses easily. The preferences of
them may be identified and as such, efficiencies may be achieved with much ease. Moreover, it
will to explore environment of both internal and that of external and based on this they may
implement requisite actions easily.
3. Find out ways to resolve conflicts
It is prevailed in the organization when two or more employees do not agree with the situations
they overcome and this results into conflicts. Team leader is the one who has problem solving
skills and such; he may solve critical issues effectively. Team leader should resolve it as he is
responsible for resolving disputes and this should be removed as it affects adversely on entire
organization (Low, 2018).

4.1 Significance of factors involved in planning the monitoring at company
The system of performance appraisal is useful method in assessing and
monitoring the performance as it notes down the objectives of each and every employee.
The roles and obligations can be implement by the company so that performance may be
assessed based on that. Managers and employees will be able to perform well (Peterson,
2016). It will also help in identifying out the most efficient employees, which are
performing well enough. With the help of appraisal system, weaknesses of the low
performers may be identified and then suitable development program may be made for
increasing their efficiency. The factors are:
Goals of the organization. Goals are required to achieve by individuals so that overall
efficiency of organization may be accomplished effectively.
Feasible: This implies that goals made, which are stated, should be achieved within
stipulated time and have much feasibility.
Measurable: The goals stated should be easily ranked or measured which help to make
rating based on performance. As such, low and top performers may be easily bifurcated.
Organization Structure: Performance appraisal system also depends upon the
organization structure. Hierarchically, leader will assist employees so that goals may be
evaluated nicely. Further, distinction will be implemented in vertical and that of horizontal form
of structure.
4.2 Prepare a plan and development needs of workers at PM Company
1. Setting goals - The first step will be to set goals for solving the problems and achieving more
customer satisfaction and thereby achieving stated goals effectively (Rees and French, 2016).
2. Setting measures related to performance: The performance evaluation is done which is
based on certain measures like overall efficiency, customers lured, feedback taken from them etc.
These measures are helpful for maximizing consumer satisfaction too much extent effectually.
3. Implementing guidelines: Certain rules and laws will be implemented and based on the
same, feedback will be taken by the organization and as a result, development needs of
individuals will be achieved to great extent (Hodges, 2016).
4. Setting of schedule: For evaluating managers and the employees, schedule will be
implemented as how much employee has improved upon his skills and this will give clear idea to
the company as to what more needs to be imparted to employees, if any deviations still exist.
Thus, overall development of employees will be done.

4.3 Performance assessment process of management and leadership performance.
This is important procedure and helps to achieve the lost productivity of PM Company
effectively and with much ease. Moreover, both employee and managers will be achieved goals
successfully. Performance assessment makes the entire process in company highly appropriate
and much organised, as employees are clearer about their duties and roles, obligations, which are
needed to be achieved by it for the betterment of the company.
Employees goals are made aligned with that of the organisation and as a result, overall
efficiency will be accomplished by it and employee will produce the desired output effectually.
Teams will be provided with tasks to achieve it satidfactorily. The same performance can be
assessed with the help of this system (Rodríguez-Carvajal, 2014). All the negative points are
interchanged with positive points because of this system and hence this system or process is
helpful in accomplishing desired output or results in the company.
CONCLUSION
Human resource management is much essential in the organization. The procedure of
selection is also vital so that the company for achieving goals may select best talent. Leadership
is however distinguish from that to management and has different styles which leader adopts
based on the situation. Leaders help in building relationships with team members effectively.
Free rein and participative leadership style are helpful in team building. Moreover, management
and leadership both play vital role in uplifting the company from adverse situation and thus help
to achieve the goals and objectives in effective manner.
