INTRODUCTION
Recruitment is regarded as an important aspect of human resource management. Recruitment is
not a single term but a systematic process of attracting, shortlisting, selecting and appointing
candidate for desired job. Considering case of united parcel service a leading parcel service
company in UK which is facing problem in their leadership, management and administration
leads to minimize in of growth rate of organization which leads to sacking of their CEO and
mass resignation of their employees from different office. It is a very critical condition for a
company hence it be rectified in effectual and profound way by a human resource manager to
carve out problems and allow the organization to grow. For doing that managers and leaders
must possess some skills and attributes, follow a suitable structured procedure and potent
leadership quality including motivations and suataininibility.

P1: Documentation of selection of new staff in organization
Documentation is an important factor of any hiring process. It makes sure transparency in
selection procedure as documents are legal mandate elements which are verified by government.
Some of the verified documents which are accepted in hiring procedure are passport, pan card,
driving license, original school documents.
Many organizations including united parcel service have their documents which containing
necessary details about employee like name, family, occupation, contacts etc. These documents
must provide all necessary information about employee as well as it must be convenient reaching
out to them.
Documents helps in regular monitoring of activities of their employee in both external and
internal environment which help in minimizing unethical activities of employees, frauds and
other criminal activities. Documentation also helps in monitoring employees earnings so that
they cannot escape taxations and policies of government.
Apart from this entire factor the main factor which is being included is contract or bonds which
give legal rights for both company and their employee which will safeguard integrity of both of
them. By having a claim against each other in case of any unlawful activity or any dispute.

selection process.
These factors are to be considering in recruitment process. As a human resource manager
it is important to consider factor having authorised rights and social responsibilities.
 Legal factors- It must be noted that there must not be any prohibition and discrimination
on any grounds. All documentations must be relevant and policies and rules must be
cleared at the time of hiring process. All hiring process must be followed under the
guidelines of labor law of UK. This helps in legalization of hiring and neutralizes any
disputes. As a manager of UPS it is important to follow all guide lines of recruitment
which will generate faith in new employee but assuring them a legal contract.
 Regulatory authority- a regulatory authority is a body which is a government agency or a
public authority which exercise an autonomous authority on human activities in supervision
capacity. It is an independent arm of government which regulates their own area according to
their guidelines and policies. Regulatory body like

must m\be entitled to have ethical values. Recently they have sacked their CEO
which leads to designation of around 50 employees this gives a clear indication that
ethical values for some extent have been compromised in organization.
All these factors do not provide monitory profit to these organizations but they provide a
brand image and provision of sustainability of organization. Currently company is going
through a rough patch in market so they cannot take further risks in spoiling their impact
further in organizational scenario. These factors are in spotlight always hence they cannot be
neglected especially when company is planning to have a long term investments in their
sector.

As a Human Resource Manager it is essential to follow a suitable way for selection. Preparations
and planning are must before and after hiring process

Selection procedure must be systematic like if it is campus then it must follow written test, group
discussions then personal interview.
 Am if it’s in organization the direct walking and personal interview
 Questions must be framed according to job descriptions and job profile.
 After the hiring process
 Evaluation of all candidates and choose best employee out of that lot.
The process must not to be delayed otherwise candidates will seek other source of employee and
they will end up with losing a better candidate fort their organization.
Categorizing evaluation technique in three parts help in analysis and evaluating each factors
effectively hence best candidates will be hired for desired job profile. It must be a systematic
way hence will be profitable in future prospects.

P4: Evaluation of own contribution in recruitment process
As a recruiter my aim was to interview every candidate by giving them ample time to
express their thoughts which will give me adequate time to analysis. More me every candidate is
same so everyone needs same respect and recognition. Before hiring I must inform candidate
about their role and job profile so that they must be well aware of profile they want to deserve I
must collect required documents and send them for further evaluation which will confirm true
identity of a candidate I must have a good conduct and behavior with candidate which will create
positive vibe among the candidates towards organization. Must be entitled to answer every
quarries of that employee which will clear their doubt about goals and intension of organization.
And finally at the time of evaluating, it must be noted that candidates are selected on the basis of
skills and merit. These are some of the factors I must follow in analyzing a candidate hence
evaluating my contribution in that process it will help me to do a satisfactory work in hiring
process. With having positive intent in hiring process i must oblige organization will benefit
from my activity as a new human resource manager.

A leader must possess certain skills and leadership traits in improving declining condition
of united package service
Self-motivated – a leader must be self-motivate and motivate their employee who will bring
back stability in environment as employee will work with enthusiastically and positively.
Standard- as united package service is a world class packages and services providing company
they must make sure their standard in marketing environment.
Accountable – managers and leaders must be accountable to their work which will generate
transparency hence it will generate positive impact on employees as there is no room for
partiality and growth is dependent upon merit only
Conflicts solving – they must be able to solve conflicts in internal environment as many seniors
employee have resigned so there is a fair chance that subordinate will have conflicts to occupy
higher management position.
These are some of the major skills which must be adopted by a new human resource manager. It
will make his work easy in solving any disputes and help in setting examples and motivating
their employees.
P6: Difference between leadership and management
One mist understands a major concept of leadership and management. Leadership is considered
as part of management system. The two factors have authorities on their own, but they have

different methods of utilization. For getting success in market in both long term and short term
company must try to make coordination between these two factors.

people are influenced by an individual or more persons. Degree of leadership is dependent on
person’s ability and his characteristics as well as factors like environment and situations. Style of
leadership is affects productivity, decision making, and metrics and employees morale. A
successful can be able to quickly analysis problematic Ares, accessing skills pfemploye and
alternatives.
Autocratic decision – It is an owner centered leadership where owner takes all decisions,
according to their own thinking and analysis, in UPS autocratic leadership was adapted where
top level managers take responsibility accordingly hence there is no role of their employee in
putting forward any idea in their organization.
Strategic leadership style – This style of leadership was adopted by Human Resource Managers
with innovative ideas, they form strategies and generate innovative ideas, like they wish to
implement latest technology in their organization increase their range in an effective way.
By opting appropriate leadership styles have a long lasting impact on organization and helps in
acting quickly on situation

P8: Motivation of staff to achieve objective
For gaining high return for external market and making a positive and resonating
environment in internal environment it is necessary to motivate their staff
Effective ways of motivating employee –
Better communication – This helps in better transfer of information form manager to their
employee as it is a stiff time for organization with many experienced employee have resigned
so it is responsibility if higher management to motivate their employ. An effective
communication will help in better transfer of information.
Empowerment – Giving their staff adequate training will help in enhance their skills which will
in turn minimize wastage of time and increase in productivity. In doing so they can decrease cost
of packaging increase have dominance over other competitors in competitive environment.
Opening of opportunaties for promotion and growth – Opening appraisals on right judgment
of employees will boost them and enhance their zeal in doing work.

Motivation is the need of the hour for organization currently staffs are concerned about their
future and they seek opportunities in different sector. Motivation will help them to believe in

coordination among them will help them to achieve their goal significantly. A team work comes

dominances on other competitors.

cannot achieve. They will be able to better penetrate in in market and provide their service in a
better way.
Innovative ideas – Brainstorming session helps in generating ideas which organization can plan
to increase their reach in new market. As from very beginning they have a scope of expansion
with innovative ideas

Coordination- Having a better coordination among team will help them to rectify solutions,
expansion, and reduction of conflicts and creation of positive environment.

critical situation I organization as many employee are resigning so as a new Human
Resource manager all the critical factors are found out. Suggestions are being prescribed
in different human resource management prospective. Through analysis focus was on real
life implications and pulling them to spotlight. This evaluation process is not an ending
