INTRODUCTION
Health and safety is one of the most important thing in the workplace, every business
organization have to follow Health and Safety Act 1974. This act state that business must ensure
the safety of worker mainly who deal in manufacturing and production unit where the risk is
very high. When the business have practice of follow every guideline provided by WHS Act
then they reduce the risk in the workplace and remain safe from any uncertainty that could cause
serious problem and even loss of life. In this report we will discuss Workplace health and safety
within workplace in the business organization.
MAIN BODY
Aims
The aims off health and safety at workplace is to assure and maintains health of people
by deriving positive impact (Pearson, Horton and Akroyd, 2021). By reducing problems that
cause injuries, diseases and other issues that impact on health of people. In order to this, by
assuring health of peoples and emphasize in positive manner results better outcome. It aims is to
maintains health and security of employees by providing safety at workplace.
Objectives
The objective is to provide support to peoples by maintaining their health and security in
effective manner. By emphasizing OHS legislation and laws in respective manner by facilitating
WHS act effectively on workplace. As their objective is to derives positive outcome for people
by maintaining their health properly (Xu, Zhang and Hudson, 2021). Through maintains health
and well-being of people respectively by implying proper health of employees and staff
members effectively. The main objectives is to provide facilities to many people who work in
organization by taking care of their health in efficient manner without facing any inconvenience.
Principles of health and safety at work under organization
The WHS act states that to assure lives of people by taking care of them effectively by
deriving employees security related to health and safety at workplace. As this helps in
emphasizing effective role by welfare provisions for members at workplace through maintaining
proper culture of business (Ferrett, 2021). By maintaining proper health and security helps in
conducting prospective output for organization. This are;

Training to employees- The WHS act determines about safety precautions through provide
proper training to staff. As this helps in maintaining sustainability of business through
emphasizing providing training to employee in order to they work in effective manner
(Lokugamage and et.al, 2021). By considering this principle help in following OHS legislation
through providing adequate training to employees.
Emphasize welfare provisions for employees- In order to this, the principle sates that by
emphasizing WHS act by maintaining welfare provision of workers. Through engaging staff
members by providing proper welfare for them through facilitating productive approach by
maintaining health of employees respectively.
Safe work environment- In context to business, it derives safety work environment through
properly maintained production within business function. By determining in organization
through emphasizing WHS act by providing secure work environment. As this helps in deriving
effective approach for business by safety of work environment through maintaining safety of
employees respectively.
Suitable provisions of adequate information- In regard to business, its principle determined by
suitability of provisions through emphasizing information, instruction etc. (Benbow, 2021). This
principle helps in facilitating effective approach of WHS act that derive suitable provisions of
gathering adequate information of health and safety. It helps in maintaining sustainability by
assuring employees safety at workplace through providing them right information.
Impact on organization of WHS act
The impact of health and safety laws is derives positive impact on each are of workplace
by adapting changes and improvisation of WHS act in effective manner (Markham, 2021). It
helps in reducing absenteeism and issues related to health by providing better facilities to
employees at workplace. As this helps in conducting productive approach for business by
reducing health issues through emphasizing WHS act adequately. Also, derives improvisation of
productivity of business through retention of highly qualified employees. As this may carried out
workplace security with less interruption in work sector. In order to this, ensures safety measures
of employees by controlling and using safety measures respectively. By this helps in signifying
hazards at workplace by identifying at right time that helps in reducing issues of health
effectively (Boadu, Sunindijo and Wang, 2021). As it helps in securing environment and
employees of business through reducing claims of workers. It emphasizes potential risk and

determines significant hazards by observing potential risk at right time and solves it through
taking corrective measure at workplace. This conducts saving of insurance and legal aspect of
business through reducing action taken by members of organization. The WHS act implies
positive impact at workplace through deriving better outcome by taking care of employees
respectively. By this influence employees and business that helps in measuring safety of
employees that derives positive outcome at workplace. In order to this, the WHS act assures that
maintaining safety and health of employees by providing them security in effective manner
(Khalid, Sagoo and Benachir, 2021).
WHS theory:
Work health and safety regulate business stay active in the workplace to avoid any kind
of safety barrier or uncertainty. This help business to maintain a secure and healthy environment
for their workers and ensure safety and security of employee. Every business organization adopt
and follow the rules and regulation of WHS and employee or worker have to follow the
guidelines provided by the business (Gately and Grantham, 2020). Many industrial business who
regularly use chemical and hazardous product and raw material need to follow all the guidelines
of workplace health and safety. It helps in maintaining sustainability through emphasizing
approaches that derives positive impact. Many business follow certain theories of WHS, these
theories are:
Occupational health psychology theory: occupational health psychology theory state that both
worker and business need to follow WHS guidelines to ensure safety in the workplace. OHP
theory highlight various topic that impact the health and safety of the worker, these topics are
psycho-social risk and safety of employee. Workplace health and safety deal in industrial and
engineering project where the risk is very high. It is very clear that accident can happened any
time without any warning but still employee have responsibilities to manage the impact of the
risk. Occupational health and safety ensure every employee take necessary step to reduce the
risk of safety in the workplace (Tetrick and Peiró, 2016). This theory target the emotion of
worker and mental stability which is very important factor in health and safety of an employee.
This theory state that when an employee feel stress then the chances of risk gets higher. It is very
clear that employee need to stay mental active to reduce the risk in the workplace. By deducting
risk and problems helps in maintaining mental health of employees. Through this emphasizing
productive approach of health and safety of workers. WHS ensure that employee or worker do

not feel stressed while performing any of task. Psychological stability of worker is very crucial
for the risk management process. There are certain approaches of workplace health and safety,
these approaches are:
The reactive approach: the reactive approach to ensure workplace health and safety is one of
the most used and common approach. This approach state that many organizations do not have
formal safety policy which lead to serious issue in the workplace and even can lead to loss of
life. This type of safety approach often very dangerous for industrial business who have large
number of manufacturing and production units. By this helps in emphasizing effective role
through reducing serious issues by assuring safety at workplace. Many business organization do
not have proper guidelines for the safety and risk management, they somehow lack in the
management activities. In this type of approach front end supervisors do not actively follow the
safety guidelines, this cause worker to think that they also need to ignore the safety protocols.
Which later cause serious problem in the workplace in the business organization. It is very
important for business to follow safety protocol and encourage worker to follow safety protocol.
Every business organization who follow written safety manual stay safe from any safety related
issue and problems.
Static approach: static approach means business follow certain necessary step of workplace
safety but do not mainly include such safety policy in major business plan. This type of
behaviour of organization state that safety is already a necessary thing which do not have to be
in the business plan (Reese, 2018). Many business organization make certain plan for their
improvement and other type of project, they often try to ignore the safety process which is quite
dangerous for the worker. Static approach state that business have informal safety standards
which means they follow safety but not in a formal way. The attitude of the management is quite
bad in this approach as they think funding is the only option after the risk has occurred and
accident is been happened. Its is very important for business to have safety manual that empower
workers to be more active in workplace.
The active approach: the active approach state that worker who already have meet with an
accident or those who have experienced the safety issue need to be motivated and need to be
more active to ensure safety in the work. Many business organization take those worker
seriously who have meet with an accident in the past and have experience, they use speech of
those worker to motivate new or other employee to be more active in the workplace. This

approach help management to invest fund in those areas of business where the accident is
already been happened. This approach pushes both, business and worker to be more safety
concern in the workplace in the business organization. The active behaviour of the person plays
an important part in the workplace safety in the business organization.
CONCLUSION
The report is summarized of WHS act by taking corrective measure through this
determines aims, objectives and principles of organization that has been comes under this act. It
will take place by describing about influences of approaches on business through facilitating
effective approach that has been determined both negative and positive influence on
organization. Further, the different approaches has been examined in this to evaluate WHS act
that has been described in this report.
