INTRODUCTION
Employability skills can be termed as set of acquisitions that individuals should have in
order to hit their own targets for a longer period of time. With the help of this, firms can expect
gain in both productivity and profitability. If an individual keeps on resolving issues or
overcoming from their weak points, it may lead him/her to a great position at workstation.
National Health Services (NHS) is a publicly funded system that is delivering their services to
common people of England. 15500 workers are already working with this governmental
association and they are also looking forward to expand their manpower (Employability skills,
2016). Main aim of this type of department is to offer their services or products to nation’s
people with quality by using new tools, techniques and technologies. However, an organisation
can use various strategies to improvise productivity of workforce.
TASK 1
1.1 Own responsibilities and performance objectives
It has been found that a manager has many duties at workstation and he/she has to work
with full efficiency (Acemoglu and Autor. 2011). Effective management can show various ways
to their employees so that they can hit their targets in a shorter period of time. NHS department
of England delivers quality services to people so that standardisation that are related to their
health can get improved. Some of employability skills and their responsibilities are mentioned
beneath:
 Duties of an individual
 Capabilities of an employee in order to learn new things
 Maintaining social relationship with other members so that employee relations can get
improved
Above discussed points, I need to locate all the areas and then set an objective and hit
them right on time in HSC sector. With the help of this, I'll become more effective in nature at
workplace. Also, I will start delivering quality goods and services to clients.

have because it may aid in achieving goals and
objectives. It can be helpful for me at the time

1.2 Own effectiveness against defined objectives
In modern era, it has become essential for every single firm and for an individual as well
to set targets and keep on evaluating them so that benefits can be gained (Brynjolfsson and
McAfee. 2012). Along with this, maintaining or setting time for every single activity is also vital
for me as it will help me out throughout the process. Under this phase, SMART acronym can be
used by me which is mentioned a follows:
Acronyms Objectives
Specific Health and social care department plays a crucial role all over England and
employees should be more effective in nature at workplace. This acronym
can help me in locating my own problems and here I found that issues that I
am facing are related to problem-solving and communicating skills.
Measurable I have analysed that all the targets and objectives should be properly
managed and measured on a regular basis. This can be done by evaluating
production which is being given by me with desired goals.
Achievable I found that targets sometimes become unachievable thus, it is necessary for
me to locate my capabilities and set benchmarks by my own so that I do not
face problems as this may lead me to get demotivated if I am not hitting my
goals and objectives.
Relevant This is the phase, where I need to make alternations which are necessary so
that desired goals and objectives can get hit right on time.
Timid Half of the year, which I need so that I can resolve issue which are related to
my communication and problem solving problems.

1.3 Recommendations for improvement
I did some research in order to improve or develop National Health Services in England
and these are mentioned below:
 To make employees much effective at workplace, I have found that it is mandatory for
managers to keep on examining production that staff members are giving.
 For motivating staff members, employers should keep on taking suggestions from them
in decision making process. Along with this, some sort of rewards can also be given to
them as an appreciation.
 I found that for improvising my own two areas that are communication skills and
problem solving, I need to keep on attending conferences and meetings or interact with
new people so that I can be more effective at workplace.
 I can make some strategies and take training from my supervisors in order to resolve my
own issues which are related to interpersonal skills and problem solving.
1.4 Motivational techniques can be used to improve performance quality
To enhance participative level of employees, it is essential for employers to keep on
motivating them (David and Dorn. 2013). With the help of this, staff members can resolve issues
by their own that they are facing while serving patients at workplace. Being as a carer I found
that workers should stay motivated then only they will work with full of efficiency. NHS can
expect better results for them at marketplace if staff members works with enthusiasm. I analysed
that at workplace, two type of motivation can be given by an employer to its employees. These
are through monetary and non-monetary. Apart from this, to improve workers production level,
there are ample numbers of techniques that can be used by NHS.
Health professionals should use approaches through which he/she can motivate
subordinates.
 By Maslow's need of hierarchy, I found that it can help employer to locate all the
requirements of employees at workplace so that they can fulfil them. Under this, research
is being done in order to locate all the needs and wants of staff members. Then initiatives
are being taken through which employees can keep up their work (Fitzenberger. 2012).
 There is one of theory which includes various elements through which employer can hold
their subordinates for a longer period of time:

2.1 Develop solutions to work-based problems
While working in health and social care sector, there are ample numbers of problems that
can be faced by organisations that are serving to people. In modern era, technological sector is
said to be dynamic in nature because they keep on making updates in order to reduce the stress
and work of workforce. National Healthcare Sector (NHS) needs continuous improvisation in
tools and techniques that they are using as by this only consumers will keep on taking services
from them for a longer period of time. Failure into this may lead them to reduction in their
clients. Quality can also get enhanced in an appropriate manner by using different tools.
A research can be conducted by NHS to locate and determine about adapting
digitalisation at workplace (Kagohara and et. al., 2013). Being as a healthcare professional for
enhancing quality of services or products it is mandatory select prime quality raw materials and
use resources in an optimised manner while keeping an eye on needs of consumers and trends.
2.2 Communicate in a variety of styles and appropriate manner at various Levels
Management of NHS can use various communicating ways in order to communicate with
each other in an appropriate manner and these are:
Verbal – This can be done by both employer and employees whenever it is needed at
workplace. Face to face is another name of this type of communicating style. It is also said to be
the best way of communication rather than any other.
Written – This type of style includes various sort of elements through which
communication can be done. Some of them are: e-mailing, texting, written document to others.
Subordinates and employer uses this type of communicating when they are not in same area.
Electronic – Under this telephone, Skype, Whatsapp, messenger, fax are some of
elements that can be used by employer and employees to communicate (Kalleberg, 2013).
Social Media – Mostly, it has being seen that firms have offices at different areas thus,
this type of communication is being used by workforces when they are not at same place.

2.3 Recognize effective time-management strategies
In modern era, time management plays a vital role as this helps a firm to become more
effective in nature at marketplace. Worth of a company will automatically get increase if they are
providing services to their consumers or clients in given time of period. Along with this, every
single individual at workplace should be motivated and responsible so that they can hit their
targets in a given time frame. Managers of National Health Services should keep on making
strategies through which he/she can motivate their employees as by this only, staff members will
start working in more effective ways.
SMART tool can be used by management for every single employee of NHS and these
includes Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time Bound by which they can manage
their production and hit desired targets (Sung and et. al., 2013).

3.1 Explain the roles people play in a team and how they can work together to achieve shared
goals
Tuckman theory – Under this hypothesis, management helps group of team members to
work with effectiveness and they also develops them at the same time. I found that a team can
give more production if they will follow stages and these phases are mentioned beneath:
 Forming Stage: This is the first phase where team leaders gives introduction squad
members of desired goals and objectives.
 Storming Stage: Under this phase, I saw that possibilities are there in which workers may
build or brake employee relations of a company. I also located that, suggestions which is
being given by team members raise conflicts.
 Norming Stage: Point, includes some sort of policies that are being made by supervisors
which should be followed by every single member.
 Performing Stage: I examined that this is the phase in which conflicts of members gets
removed and they start working with information towards their goals and objectives.
 Adjourning Stage: Last stage in which, team mates starts helping each other in finishing
tasks so that they can enjoy.
NHS can directly make team members about their responsibilities which they are going
to have at workplace so that targets of them can be achieved.

3.2 Analyse team dynamics
I have located, if team members know about their designation, responsibilities and duties
it becomes very easy for them to finish the given task in a shorter period of time. Being as a
healthcare professional it is necessary for me to keep on locating areas of team in which they are
weak and make them strong on those so that they work together and attain goals and objectives.
Along with this, I also found, if issues and conflicts are there in between team mates it is may be
possible that they won't hit their targets right on time and this healthcare sector cannot afford.
I found that, it becomes vital for a team leader to give squad proper sort of training and or
make them understand about vision and mission of organisation. Continuous orientation may
help supervisor to keep on running and building team more effective ways.
3.3 Suggest alternative ways to complete tasks and achieve team goals
There are ample number of alternatives through which tasks can get hit in more effective
and efficient ways and some of them are as follows:
 I can introduce team mates with each other from time to time and along with this, some
games can be played by them so that employee relations can get enhanced. With the help
of this, functions and operations of NHS can get improvised.
 Along with this, management can formulate unique motivational strategies through which
they become more effective at workplace. Being a health care professional I need to look
what exactly my team members are asking for and take initiatives in order to enhance
their production.
 Another alternative that can help NHS to achieve goals and objectives is team leader can
take feedbacks from squad members in order to improvise all the actions so that targest
can get hit efficiently.

In healthcare department it is important to use most relevant tools and techniques in order
to hit their targets in more effective and efficient ways (Tymon, 2013). Some of them are as
follows:

Mathematics: Algorithms are said to be unique in nature that can be used by seniors.
This is one of the approach which is being used widely by most of organisations. In healthcare
department, there are ample number of people that are being utilized by most of people in nature.
Heuristics: A psychological tool which directly helps supervisors to resolve issues but it
is also not much effective.
Trial and Error: Methodologies are there that can be used by management when it is not
left with any other alternative in order to solve problems.
4.2 Develop an appropriate strategy for resolving a particular problem
In this context, few of strategies are given beneath: Understand to problem: NHS's management should keep on locating areas in which they
are suffering from problems and then take initiatives.
 Set Plan: Under this phase, there are ample number methods that can be used by
management of NHS but at this point it is essential for them to locate the best one in
order to hit targets in most effective way (Yusof and et. al., 2012). Implementation: This is the stage in which plan which has been created that gets imply
so that desired goals can get hit right on time.
 Evaluation: Under this, monitoring is being done of plans and projects which is being
made and initiatives are being taken in order to resolve issues if any are being faced.
4.3 Impact on the business of implementing the strategy
NHS a governmental department which helps in enhancing living standards of common
people of England. It has been analysed that if all the tools and strategies are being used
perfectly, it may lead firm to hit their targets in more effective and efficient way. Employers are
said to be the persons who makes schemes and for their employees so that they can keep them at
workplace for a longer period of time (Ayres, Mechling and Sansosti. 2013).
Away from this, for improving skills and knowledge it is important for management to
keep on giving training to its employees. With the help of this, they will become more effective
at workstation and will start giving production with quality.
CONCLUSION
As per above mentioned assignment, it has been summarised that skills and knowledge of
an individual can make or break him/her at workplace. A talented employee will give most of
