Description of the Position:PMC needs to describe the position of the concerned employees well. As with the help of description of the position, it eases out the selection procedure of selecting the appropriate candidate(Wuet al.2015, p.820). Advertisement: Posting a relevant advertisement is also a major step in the recruitment process. Thus, the advertisement for the selection will be done through both the electronic and print media(Darrow et al.2015, p.282). The advertisements will clearly state the required experience, knowledge, and skills for the specific position. Further, the responsibilities need to be performed by the individual in respect with the position needs to be mentioned clearly(Renkoet al.2015, p.60). AC1.2Assessmentoftheimpactoflegal,regulatoryandethical considerations: P 1.2 (P, M, D) There are various legal, regulatory, ethical impacts laid on the entire recruitment and selection process. One of the important regulations such asThe National Minimum Wage Act 1998, according to this act the U.K. government has stated the minimum wages to be provided to the employees through organizations. Another most important regulation isThe Equality Act 2010, which states that the equality should be provided amongst all the employees despite their age. For example, the employees recruited by the PMC cannot get any exceptional privilege for their age(Zaccaroet al.2015, p.352). This kind of favouritism is generally done broadly on two groups, which comprise of the young people and elderly people. Another important legislation during recruitment isThe Sex discrimination Act1975.According to this act, the PMC cannot do any kind of sex discrimination amongst the candidates. For example, while recruiting those eligible individuals as per the management decision, no biases can be done on the grounds of gender. After the implementation of this act all the organizations can only hire the candidates on their skills, knowledge and cannot pre -assume their capabilities as per their gender. 5
Another important regulation to be followed during the recruitment process is during the advertisementlaid by the company(Quigley and Hambrick, 2015, p.825). It is seen that when the advertisement goes for publishing the human resource department of the PMC, the HR manager has to ensure that there cannot be any violation of law or any sentiments of individual or group are affected. AC 1.3 Participation inselectionprocess: P1.3 (P, M, D) As an Hr Manager of the PMC, I have various roles that need to be performed during the selection procedure of the employees. The entire selection process is subdivided into various categories in a progression. The first role consist of selecting an appropriate panel, Selection of appropriate panel:An appropriate panel is required for selecting the eligible candidates during the recruitment and selection. Therefore, as an Hr Manager its one of the major role to select an appropriate panel based on their experience, knowledge withhold I the industry. Short listing:The eligible candidates need to be shortlisted after receiving the application from the interested ones. PMC will undergo some of the famous methods for short-listing the employees such as a written exam and an IQ test to be conducted. Further, the shortlisted candidate's list goes to the human resource department for the further procedure(Chenet al. 2015, p.1392). Interview:After receiving the shortlisted candidate's list, it is the duty of the Hr manager to conduct interviews. The interviews are in general held to verify their background, education, and skills mentioned(Monzaniet al.2015, p.460). In addition, the communication skills are even seen. Appointment:The final step in the recruitment process is to provide the final appointment to all the candidates selected from all the stages(Semenyna and Honey, 2015, p.39). The appointment is finalized through a proper appointment letter provided by the Hr Manager of the human resource department. 6
AC 1.4 Evaluation ofcontribution: P1.4 (P, M, D) During the selection procedure as an HR manager of the PMC, there were various essentials roles undertaken by me. During the entire selection procedure, my main agenda was to do the entire recruitment process to be solely fair without being biased. Further, my aim was also to do the entire process based on the ethics and violation of law should not take place. I have undergone the various steps involved in the procedures followed through a sequence. Initially, all the necessary documents in the procedure were effectively prepared by me. The advertisement was prepared to inform the public about the recruitment. Further, the selection panel was effectively selected by me as the entire panel consist of the experienced, knowledge people especially in respect with the industry. Then the entire interview procedure was also conducted by me for all the shortlisted eligible candidates by the experts in the panel. Lastly, the appointment letter with my authorization was mailed to the concerned candidates. LO2: Various Styles andImpactof the Leadership AC 2.1 Required Skills and attributes for leadership: P2.1 (P, M, D) Leadership is an important role to be played in every organization. The leader in every organization is there to guide all his subordinates to achieve the goals and objectives stated by the organization(Miner, 2015, p.47). Thus, the leader role is considered more important as compared with the manager of any organization. Various leadership styles are framed by the experts to define the roles of the leaders. For an effective leader various leadership styles are adopted in different organizations (Legislation.gov.uk. (2016). One of the famous leadership styles is theAuthoritarian Leadership Style. According to this style, the leader present in the organization has to push its team members towards the goals of the organization. As the PMC is undergoing several losses, so this leadership style goes well in context with the present situation of the company. Another most important leadership style is theTransformational Leadership style. As per this style, the leaders are bound to be visionary and transform them to the organizational goals (Greiner, 2015, 120). According to this style, the leader needs to be compelling to reduce the work pressure of the employees and motivate them further. 7

AC 2.4 Different ways tomotivatestaff to achieve objectives: P2.4 (P, M, D) There are different ways to motivate the employees that can go well with the PMC to improve the company’s financial position. Rewards: The PMC should provide continuous rewards to the employees as their motivation. It will help the employees to perform better as their work will drive them to their own benefit. Attractive Salary Package: The Company to hire skilled, efficient employees must offer attractive salary packages to them (Miner, 2015, p.19). I need to put all the employees together so that effective and the efficient result would come and the losses of the company can be recovered. Purple Mail Company needs to establish a resolution that arises due to conflict among the employee. This resolution would help this firm to deliver their services on time (Blanchard, 2010, p.54). encourages me to feel proud of the team member's contribution so that the employee would try to give best. On the contrary, if this firm encourages their employee and motivates their team for their performance then the performance of Purple Mail Company can be maintained. AC 3.2 Importance of working as a leader while dealing with different situations: P3.2 (P, M, D) The company has to face different situations every day. This firm usually works together if any conflict arises. I feel a leader plays an important role in any organization. The leader deals with the performance of the individual. This is also the responsibility of the leader to deal with the poor performance of the team in order to maintain the performance of the company (Bush and Middlewood, 2013, p.87). Purple Mail Company suffers from the losses so this is the duty of the leader to improve the performance by improving its delivery services. Being an HR manager I will suggest the leader of this firm to makes the strategy so that the delivery of the services can be done on time. The leader also takes care of shortage resources. According to my perspective as a hundred employees left, the job the leader has to make the strategy so that employee would get job satisfaction and perform better for the company. The leader is committed to achieving goal and objectives of this firm. I feel they have to think always positive and motivate their team so that the team would show dedication in their work. In Spite of suffering from losses, the leader has to make strategies in order to resolve the conflict that occurs due to mismanagement (DeRue and Ashford, 2010, p.631). I also realize that the leader has effectively focused on to finish the task within the period. In my point of view, the leader is very important as they are committed to work for the better performance of the company. AC 3.3 Effectiveness of the team inachievingthe goals: P3.3 (P, M, D) I feel a team is very important for the organization. The full-fledged development of the organization depends on the team efficiency. An effectual team helps the organization for achieving the incredible goals (Gardner, 2010, p.92). In my perspective, the overall performance of Purple Mail Company depends on the performance of the team. The team effectively overcomes the challenge that they face while doing their task. Each member has productive 11
ideas. Being the HR manager of this firm, I observed that if these productive ideas would come together then it help the company to get recover from the losses they have faced. The most important things regarding the team are that an effective team is helpful for getting the high-quality result. The effective team helps the organization to perform well and leave behind all the competitors by providing satisfaction in their services. In the case of Purple Mail Company, I have realized that the firm has to take care of their team so that the employee would not move for other options. The team should be motivated so that they would show dedication in their work (Tyler, 2010, p.34). The management of this firm should be properly maintained so that the team would provide their services on time. I feel if the team would get job satisfaction then they would provide the best service and the performance of this firm would be recover. LO4: AC 4.1 Factors involved in monitoring toassessthe performance: P4.1 (P, M, D) In my perspective, the performance of the team should be monitored time to time in order to maintain the position of the organization. The performance of the employee needs to be judged (Bason, 2010, p.61). PMC needs to use quality control within an organization. I feel the workers should be conscious of passing their work. They need to be very attentive while doing any task. The firm needs to do a survey for getting the information regarding customer’s views and employee performance. The performance needs to be measured so that better performance can be expected. Being an HR manager of Purple Mail Company the firm needs to appraise the staffs so that quality performance of the employee should be improved. In case the firm would appraise their employee for their work so that the employee would feel motivated. I feel the Purple Mail Company needs to do appraisal interviews. This formal interview would help to measure the potential of the employee (DeRue and Ashford, 2010, p.631). I feel this appraisal interview would help to find out the quality of the employee. In case, if the quality of the team would be identified then the firm would give more emphasis upon that. 12
The employee would then perform well and the services of this courier company can be improved. AC 4.2Developmentneeds of individual of an organization: P4.2 (P, M, D) As the HR manager, I would suggest this firm organize training. This training would help the employee to learn the different skills required for the company. In case the employee does not know the skills that actually required then the employee would not be able to perform better. This training would help the employee to learn the skills (Blanchard, 2010, p.54). The job of the team needs to be review properly so the skills of the individuals can be identified. In my opinion, the individual meeting from the team member should be made in order to know the problems of the employee. This firm needs to gather all the external and internal data. These data would be helpful in order find the ability of the employee. According to my assumption, the performance of the individual should be observed. The developmentsoftheorganizationdependontheperformanceoftheteam(Bushand Middlewood, 2013, p.87). In case if the team of the Purple Mail Company would perform better and deliver their services on time then this firm may regain its popularity. AC 4.3 Evaluation of success in theassessmentprocess: P4.3 (P, M, D) As an HR manager, I have found that the training provided by this firm has motivated the employee largely. The employee has started to perform well and started to deliver their services on time (Tyler, 2010, p.34). According to my assumption, the survey that has been done in order to find the potential of the employee has helped this firm to improve its working strategies. This survey has helped this firm to grow in terms of performance, revenue, as well as goodwill. The meeting with the individual employee has also helped the firm to know the potential of the individuals. This enabled me to use the strength of my employees for the growth of the company and work on their weakness to overcome the same. 13
