INTRODUCTION
Human Resource management is the method which help people to mange their work. IT
is important suction for any organization for skill development. HRM department are play
important role in any firm they are responsible for managing employee in different ways such as
recruitment, training and development, rewarding, motivate and inspire and performance
appraisal etc. It plays crucial role in organization development by providing knowledge, training,
legal management and necessary tools for development etc. This report explains human
resources management in Hilton Hotel. It is famous worldwide approx 3800+ hotels are available
in 88+ countries (Maffei, 2018). It is founded in 1919 by Conrad Hilton in Texas. They divided
its market in three categorize such as business, convention and leisure. This report aim is to
explain HRM in Hilton for that they explain purpose and function of Human Resource
management and also its Strength and weakness with different approaches. It also explains
different benefits of HRM practice for Hilton employee and employer it also evaluates
effectiveness of different practices. This report also help to analyse the importance of employee
relations and identify the key elements of employment lawmaking. In the end of the report it
illustrates the Human resource management practice application with particular example.
1:Purpose and functions of HRM
Human Resource and Management has different purpose and functions to manage
various needs of Hilton Hotels and their staff. They do their work effectively by using this
functions. It also help to improve efficiency of the organization by mange financial to legal
matters. There are following purpose and functions of HRM,
Staffing Needs: HR department are mainly known for employee recruitment. Employee
recruitment include creating post then announcement after that taking interviews and in interview
select right candidate whose skills are perfectly matched with the vacancy. After recruitment,
they try to fulfil their needs and give training and motivate employees for efficient work. They
are also select existing employees for transfer and promotion (Otoo, 2019). They try to satisfy
their employee needs and expectation. In Hilton hotel human resource department help to hire
employees and give effective trainings so that staff can do their work effectively and their
knowledge and skill are use in right direction.
Compensation: Human resources department also manage employee pay structure. In Hilton HR
evaluate and make changes in pay structure according to market and competitors. They also

study the different policies and help Hilton hotels with various laws of compensation and
minimum regular payment for overtime. They also try give payment according to employee
performance and its expectations so that employee will feel motivated and do their task
effectively which help to grow the business.
Benefits: HRM also try to develop employees benefits programs so that skilful and
knowledgable candidate attract from Hilton hotels and help them to achieve its target. They
include benefits such as health insurance, retirement plan, promotion, incentives etc. These
benefits attract employees and inspire them to do their task and help to achieve its goals. Human
recourse department of Hilton provide brief information in enrolment season to make time
sensitive decisions.
Performance Appraisal: Human resource department manage individual department performance
of Hilton hotel. It is responsible for creating performance appraisal process. Performance
appraisal help employees to stay motivated and department for their work. This function also
help employees to complete their task on time and before deadline (Diaz-Fernandez, Bornay-
Barrachina, and Lopez-Cabrales, 2017). They also take reviews from employees for performance
appraisal.
Law Compliance: In Hilton hotel security and safety of the employee is important. Human
resource department help organization employees stay safe and secure with different law
compliance such as health insurance. They also give information time to time for safety and
security. HRM help organization to stay safe and secure.
HRM purpose and function are responsible to select right skilled and knowledge employee for
right position to achieve business goals and objective. Performance management help employees
to improve their performance and increase their efficiency. HRM purpose and functions also help
in recruitment and selection of the right candidate. Function such as staffing needs, performance
appraisal help to attract right candidate for right position. Training and development is also a
function which help employees and organization to increase employee skill and knowledge and it
also helps in better learning.
These purposes and function of HRM help Hilton to effectively organize staff tasks and
they also help to recruitment of new staff. In Hilton HRM try to help existing staff by providing
trainings for new development process and according to change in industry and to compete with
