INTRODUCTION
Manager is a person who is responsible for administering and controlling the company or
group of employees. They are able to manage, control, direct and evaluate worker’s performance
in order to achieve organisational goals and objectives. HR manager conducts training and
development program for management which enhances manager’s skills and knowledge.
Through these activities, HR department has enhance manager technical and conceptual ability
to draw valid conclusion. The main role of leadership and management is to manage all
employee and business activities in an effective manner.
Hilton is an UK brand of hotel which provides their services in around 85 countries with
more than 570 hotels and resorts. Hilton hotel is providing their services in hospitality industry
from May 31st 1919. Conrad Hilton is the founder of this group of hotels. In this assignment,
various management styles and leadership characteristics which create impact on firm’s decision
making process are covered (Arnold and Boggs, 2015). Under mansion report cover employees
motivation in order to achieve goals and managerial skills which support career development and
review performance and future needs.

Leadership
Individuals are the leaders within the company. It is an activity of guiding a group of
persons or an company abilities to do this. It involves establish a clear vision, give information,

Autocratic Style Democratic Style
In this style, senior managers do not consider

discussed below: Communication skills: It is necessary to have a good skills of communication in
organisation culture of Hilton Hotel. It is a quality that every leadership should be a good
speaker as well as good listener who able to interact in all situations (The Role of the
Manager in Performance Management, 2016). As they have to deal with very different
peoples like traveller, tourist which provide different services. Motivator: Leadership should have a quality of motivating their team members for
effective results. Employees can be influenced by rewarding, compensating, bonus,
certificates etc. as it help in encouraging workers to perform in a very effective and
efficient way (Baharorn, Deraman and Hamdan, 2016). Team oriented: Managers coordinate with their team members by controlling and
allocating their performance. Their main purpose is to provide luxurious services and
comfortable stay to their customers. Their buyers should highly satisfy with their teams
like as kitchen staff, housekeeping staff etc.
Innovative or Creative: Leaders should manage and promote creative ideas within Hilton
Hotel. They carry out new working style and techniques for properly use of their
employees for better productivity within the organisation.

Types of communication: People are communicate with each other by using number of
method mostly two type of communication mode has been used, those explain as follows:
Verbal communication: It is refers to as the form of communication where messages are
transmitted verbally. Communication will be completed by word of mouth and in written. It
further divided into oral and written communication (Arnold and Boggs, 2015).
Non verbal communication: In this, persons are sending and receiving wordless

written, signs, silence etc. which trigger the receiver response. Channel: It is a medium by which they have to convey their message. It should be
chosen properly for delivering a correct and effective message to receiver. Some of
communications mediums are written, oral, gesture, sound etc. Noise: It is a disturbance which is created while delivering of message to receiver. It
became a barriers of communication when properly message is not conveyed. Receiver: It is a people from whom the message have to convey. Degree of which
receivers decodes message depend on their experience, trust, skills etc.

in proper coordination of all activities of hotel. It also eliminate the wastage of time with the help
of effective communication.
Communication barriers: There are many reasons of failing interpersonal communication.
Some time message are not received properly or sender can not send clear content thus create

Use of jargons: complicated, technical and unfamiliar term some time can not

Emotional barriers and taboos: Some person can not express their feeling and opinion in

own for this position in a better manner:-
Personal skills: I have obsessed with many skills like interpersonal, motivation and
effective communication. These abilities help me to influence associated persons in an effective
way as well as give my strong impression on them. It is an important art that a manager should
possess. But am not good at make connections or good relations with stakeholders easily.
Therefore, I need to work on the same.
Leadership skills: These abilities help a manager to maintain good relationship with
other employees as well as healthy environment for them. Effective management skills can

proved its efficiencies if possess leadership abilities also. This thing of mine makes me a part of
team-project and I can lead team-members with strong vision in a better way.
Cooperative and creative skills: I have a polite and soft-spoken nature through which
make cooperation with other ones is easy to me. Rapid change in market trends demand
modification and innovative creation in an organisation. So a manager requires creative skills in
order to face challenges and resolve them in a frequent manner.
Technical skills: For introducing change management in an enterprise, a manager should
be able to execute the same successfully (Hunt and Weintraub, 2016). I always try to learn more
technical skills so that modification in techniques can be done easily with help of workers. Apart
from this, I need to acquire some more knowledge in same field.
Therefore, in regarding with effective managerial skills, I should work on myself so that
tasks are done by me in an adequate and timely manner.

A manager is responsible to manage all activities and operations of an organisation in a
desired way. He should have skills like good communication, problem solving, quick decision-
making, etc. that prove his effectiveness in achievement of company's targets. In order to analyse
ourself SWOT is a best method to evaluate our own abilities.

me to face future challenges. Through this I become able to influence employees and

In an organisation, manager distributes work among all staff members according to their
skills and capabilities in order to achieve aim and objectives in given time frame. The main roles
